Bio:
I have loved snowboarding since a very early age. Starting on a 2" thick plastic board from FleetFarm on snow covered dirt piles in MN I fell in love! Fast forward 2 decades I now reside in Western Washington and LOVE the pow I get to ride every season. I'm a backcountry and slackcountry rider who loves the land and am learning to be more conscious of my actions and choices.
Pray For Snow and Ride to be Happy!

Burton Wheelie Board Case
January 15, 2012
Yes you can, but this bag is designed with a separate compartment under the main compartment to stow just decks. As DEON noted it is best to store/ travel w/o binding mounted to your board. If you absolutely wanted to travel with bindings attached to your board you could stow 2 boards with mounted bindings in the main compartment.

Burton Wheelie Board Case
January 15, 2012
This is not entirely true, as there is not structure that goes throughout the entire bag.. the nose and tail have a hard structure that allow the board to keep it's shape while protecting the nose and tail for your board from head on slams. That being said the bag still relies on the the board the keep the entire bad from sandwiching. I would say it's a good compromise as a full internal structure would make for either a very expensive or very heavy bag. If you have ever had to lug a board bag around from the house to the airport and from the airport to the mountain.. you would know that weight is a big deal! LMK if you would like pictures showing what structure the bag has.

Quiksilver Travis Rice Gore-Tex Jacket - Men's
March 28, 2011
I'd say it fits like a normal jacket. I normally wear a Med as I don't like baggy. But I'm 6'2 175 with long arms. Picked this up on a pre-season sale and they only had 1 large. It is a bit big on me but I'm not swimming in it so it's comfy. I think i am between a M and L on this jacket. I'd say a M would be good for you as long as you like things a little baggy. Over all the fit is still nice even in a larger size.

Salomon Snowboards Malamute Snowboard Boot - Men's
March 28, 2011
To anyone who has these (any year).. how many days of riding did they take to break in? I'm assuming they take longer than normal boots due to their stiffness.

Oakley Primed Bib - Men's
March 22, 2011
Anyone have these for a year in wet snow? Any issues with the 30k not holding up? I really want these but Oakley does not do Gore and I know and trust in Gore so I am skeptical if these will hold out water in the long run. Thanks

Clifbar Clif Shot Energy Gel - 24 Pack
March 21, 2011
Yes they do get thicker the colder they get. The solution is to sick em someplace warm a bit before you want one. If my base layer has a pocket i'll put one in there before i start my day, if not then i keep em in my pants pocket and toss one in my glove 5 min before i want one. That way the shot will be warm and less viscous.

Ride Slackcountry UL Snowboard
March 15, 2011
The NS is a great board that has a better build quality than the Ride SC.. but I prefer the way the Ride SC handles in the deep stuff, just my opinion. I'd say if you can to try and demo these boards.. but a warning that the demo really needs to take place in some powpow or you're not going to like either one. My choice would be the Ride SC, but both are killer decks!

Black Diamond QuickDraw Guide Probe 300
March 14, 2011
For me the probe to get is still the G3 Professional Tech Probe. Buuuut the locking mechanism on the BD Quickdraw is really fast, something the G3 lacks. IMO length is important, especially if the buried victim is using an avalung (increasing the time they can stay alive under the snow by up to 40+ min). I insist all my bc riding buddies get nothing smaller than a 280 for their probe. Once of these buddies purchased this and he really likes it. The only thing this probe lacks in alternating colors (makes finding victims easier), and a mushroom tip (helps the probe not stick to the snowpack and aids in glide). Other recomended probes would be the G3 Professional Tech and the BCA SR3.
Cliffnotes: 300+ is the ideal length for a probe. The BD Quickdraw is a good choice.

Black Diamond Deploy 3 Shovel
March 9, 2011
Technically this is still a 2 piece. The difference here is that the 2nd part (the shaft) slides into the shovel for storage so it never needs to come out. The advantage is a very quick assembly and a slight reduction in weight.

I'm sure you have already gotten a board by now. But to best answer this Q we would need to know more information. Info such as your location, riding style, experience, and so on.

Salomon Sick Stick Snowboard
March 3, 2011
I ride this stick in a 163 and have size 12 boot (Salomon f22) and I have never come close to catching a toe or heel, and I have thrown some pretty deep turns on super fast cords (believe it or not) on this board. Although most of my sick stick's time is spent in the powpow.

Salomon Sick Stick Snowboard
March 3, 2011
A little late to the Q.. but for anyone else with the same/similar Q.. Due to this boards design and shape it is meant to be ridden in smaller sizes that you would normally go for in a pow board, so I would say that a 163 would be just fine. I weigh just shy of 80 kgs and I think the 163 might even be too big for me, but you can never have too much float.
