had a chance to compare these to some very light wool t-shirts on a recent backpack trip. temps were in the high 80's and we we're hauling too much stuff up a long way....
this shirt kept me totally dry, even on my back. in contast, the super light wool t-shirts were soaking wet below my pack.
my only complaint, and the reason for only 4 stars- this shirt started to pill where my pack was rubbing in the middle of my back.

it does have vents under the arms- but no zippers. uses flaps instead.
this is a very compressible light coat. no pockets for hands though.

i'm 6 feet and i fit in a regular, as far as the hood goes. the collar inside is located a bit too low for me though, but it doesn't get in my way

great shirt

Backcountry.com Merino Zip Tee - Long-Sleeve - Men's

i have tons of merino stuff- it's the best fabric unless it's really hot out. this is a nice shirt. got it for an unbelievable price on S/C. nice trim fit (i got a large - 175 lbs 6 feet). only thing not perfect is the thumbhole location, for me. my thumb is on the side of my hand, not the back where my ring finger is. but i don't even use that anyway. very nice finish on the shirt, and i like the color. i wear it as a single outerlayer.

El Naturalista Macabuca N368 Shoe - Men's

i got two pairs (on sale)- light brown and dark brown- both size 45. i usually wear a 10.5. i use sole inserts in them. one is perfect, one is a bit too small. so there's some variation.....
they are pretty much my favorite shoe.
by the way - i get so many comments on these it's amazing (99% good).
