Bio:
I mountain bike, telemark ski, rock climb, and swing dance. Oh, and I work too, but that's just to pay for the gear. :) I have a bit of a blog going at http://leisureprotour.com and will build it into something big one of these days.

Will the TX Pro work with all randonee bindings, or just Dynafit?...
Scarpa Terminator X Pro Telemark Ski Boot

Will the TX Pro work with all randonee bindings, or just Dynafit? Ie. will they work with my Fritschi bindings (in addition to NTN bindings)?

I do not believe this is fritschi, naxo, duke compatible (David just cross checked with the Scarpa website - only compatible with Dynafit TLT bindings.)
This is correct all of the Scarpa Bellow style AT boots will not work with anything but dynafit as they can back flex and pop out of the heel.
Love it. Light & Warm
Mountain Hardwear Phantom Jacket - Men's
September 4, 2008
I haven't had this jacket in the snow yet, but so far it's proven to be extremely light, and even warmer than my other, heavier down jackets. It fits a bit tighter too, so there isn't extra space to heat, which is nice. I've worn it on cold & windy Tahoe and San Francisco evenings and it's kept me extremely warm. So far I'm very impressed and I'm pretty sure this will be my go-to extra "warm layer" for back county skiing. 6'4", 170, and a size L is perfect.

Patagonia down sweater or Mont Bell Ultralight Down Inner Parka?...

Patagonia down sweater or Mont Bell Ultralight Down Inner Parka? Which is warmer, which fits a tall thin body better? Other pros & cons of each?
Crossbows rock
Black Diamond Crossbow Ski
October 29, 2005
I'm 6ft 4in, 170lb, and I mainly ski in Tahoe. I have 2 sets of Crossbows, one set up for tele and one set up randonee. For tele I love them in everything but the deepest powder. They're quick edge to edge, light, rip through crud, and carve as well as any shape ski I've skied. Their torsional rigidity instills great confidence on the steeps and in chutes. I find them to be a little soft for randonee, but plenty stiff for tele given the more even weight distribution in a tele turn. Two of my buddies and I all independently showed up with new Crossbows not knowing the others were getting them, so that says something.
