The North Face Apex Magic Jacket - Men's

The North Face Apex Magic Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 13, 2005

I bought this jacket for cool and cold weather mountain bike riding. It has performed great so far. A base layer and a middle layer is good underneath for rides at freezing or below. I usually wear just a long sleeve base layer underneath for 40F and above temps. This jacket blocks the wind but lets your skin breathe. It has an athletic cut so it is not flapping around in the breeze. I have not been cold on a single ride when wearing this jacket. Another great product from The North Face.

A great warm hat that cover your ears. It kept my head warm when camping on Mount Mitchell NC in 20F weather. I also can fit my Mountain Bike Helmet over it for cold rides. I can't wait to test it snowboarding.

Great All Around Shades

Oakley Half Jacket XLJ Sunglasses

Oakley Half Jacket XLJ Sunglasses

Rating for this product: 4 November 7, 2005

I use these mostly for mountain biking, hiking, and kayaking. They provide great protection for all. The interchangeable lenses are great for all different light conditions. The only fault I have found with these are some fogging when mountain biking. On warm humid days the lenses instantly fog up for me when I come to a stop on the bike. This only happens on early morning rides or in very humid conditions. As long as you have air moving across your face they do not pose a problem. The lenses are a little tricky at first to change, but after a few times it is easy. All around, I highly recommend these shades.
