I love this shirt!

Icebreaker Superfine Tech T - Women's

Icebreaker Superfine Tech T - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 September 11, 2006

It’s hard to think of this top as technical. It’s comfy and cute. But it does perform. Great for summer activity. Wicks about as well as a good poly-type shirt, but more comfortable and more stylish. Not sure about the stink factor, but I haven't had any complaints yet!

not as good as hoped for

The North Face Paramount Porter Convertible Pant - Women's

The North Face Paramount Porter Convertible Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 September 11, 2006

Stylish and durable, yes. Roomy and practical, no. The pockets aren't as spacious as cargo pockets, and the hook-and-loop closure back pocket can be annoying. For a pant as tough as this, I would have hoped to carry more in pockets, but it seems better to stow things in a pack or purse when wearing these.

Icebreaker Skin200 Chakra Zip - Women's

Icebreaker Skin200 Chakra Zip - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 September 11, 2006

I love this shirt from a technical, wicking, warm, and non-stink standpoint, but I also love that it looks great. Icebreaker has got it down for building a non-itching wool that performs on backcountry adventures. Icebreakers are my favorite piece of technical clothing. You can't go wrong!

I loved these socks, but I think they got lost somewhere on my Zion NP trip. :( Great light weight sock. Too bad I only got to use them once.

The North Face VaporWick Striped Polo - Women's

The North Face VaporWick Striped Polo - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 September 11, 2006

I love the comfort and style of this. People love this shirt on me. I've received several positive comments! Vaporwick as a whole is much better than cotton. I can't say you won't get sweat spots, though. The down-side is that it does pill up, even with following the washing instructions on the tag. At least they're cheap, right? Buy more than one before they're gone.

Mammut Avalanche Safety Package

Mammut Avalanche Safety Package

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2006

This beacon is very easy to use and very lightweight. The gear stuffs nicely into the pack, with room for a camera and munchies. The only thing this package is lacking is a snow-saw for snow tests. The Life Link snow saw is a tight fit in the pack, but it works. All in all, it's a great package that lets you get out of the resort to have some steep, safe fun.

comfy pants

Marmot Cargo Pant - Men's

Marmot Cargo Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 5, 2006

These pants are very comfortable (if you get the right size). I love the zipped pocket inside the cargo pocket, and the knee pads are nice for when you're sitting around watching your friends biff it in the half pipe (your knees don't get cold!). The leg vents are great for cooling off or staying cool while hiking backcountry.

One downside is the fog color isn't as dark as the website shows. They are quite a bit lighter than I expected. Also, the fabric is very thin, so take care that you don't slice your new pants with your snowboards.

I love this board!

Arbor Element Snowboard

Arbor Element Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2005

This is a board that takes what I dish out. It allows me to handle the steeps that my buddies riding Neversummers and big powder boards are shredding. Flying over chop and bumps the landing is so smooth I can hardly tell I'm airborne. It can also take the bigger drops, and the fast base is great if you're stuck riding a cat track back to the lift.
With the long nose, no matter where you place your bindings, you're still going to float above the powder. It's an expensive board, but it's worth every penny.

Cozy, but Tough

The North Face Tadpole 23 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

The North Face Tadpole 23 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2005

I've managed to fit two adults (6' and 5'4") plus a 65lb lab, and it's definitely a tight fit. I would go bigger, but the weight can't be beat! I've been through several rain storms, hail storms, wind storms, and even snow with this tent! It does accumulate moisture on the colder nights, but then, it wasn't intended to be a winter tent. This is the first tent that hasn't blown over from strong Utah winds. Very sturdy design. It's also extremely quick and easy to set up, so no worries if you get to camp after dark. I would, however, recommend getting stronger stakes, as I have crushed a few already.
