Comfortable fit that allows to carry two 32 oz. Nalgene bottles for a couple of hours (they fit in just tightly). Slightly insulated. The small pocket is practical enough to put in your cellphone, iPod or keys.

The rubber frame obviously limits its durability, but if you're looking for a light product that you can put in your pack for those times when you'll encounter snow and ice, these will eliminate slippage. I even use them to clean my steep paved driveway.

Excellent shell!
Mountain Hardwear Offwidth Softshell Jacket - Men's

No insulation here, but it does a decent job of keeping the wind and water out, while maintaining great breathability. Besides on hikes, I've actually used it as a shell for my 8 mile bike ride to work in MA in the winter, and it's breathability is superb!

Good pack!
The North Face Thresher Hydration Pack

The pack is comfortable and it does a decent job of insulating the bladder, and it comes with a great harness. Space is really limited obviously, so don't plan on storing anything beyond an energy bar, keys or a cellphone. You should upgrade if you're planning on carrying other stuff with you. But it does very well what it's supposed to do.
