Instant love affair

Olukai Ohana Sandal - Women's

Olukai Ohana Sandal - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 June 14, 2011

I got these today...after anxiously waiting for them to arrive, I instantly put them on and walked around the house making sure the arch support was adequate...then they broke. No joke. I was going up the stairs and the strap broke. Within an hour. Seriously. After all the glowing reviews I've read, after the internal conflict surrounding paying $65 for a pair of flips, they broke. What was worse is that the love affair was already in full-swing. These flipflops are SO very comfortable....so long as you have high arches. There is a very pronounced arch support that flatfooters will dislike. The footbed is total cush and the straps are softy. I was so happy with them. Until...you know. Backcountry is saving the day, though, and sending me a new pair muy pronto and I'm sending these back. I do recommend them...QC issues happen everywhere but I am more than willing to give Olukai another try. They were THAT comfy. I am a regular size 8.5-9 and the Olukai 9 fit perfectly.

UPDATE: A few weeks later...these slaps ROCK. No QC issues with this pair and I'm shopping for another right now because Backcountry made my return so easy. I wore these babies to the Fair where I walked around for 6 hours. On the way home, when my son and hubby were draggin'. I realized my feet were not achey AT ALL. Can't recommend them enough!!

Oakley Forsake Sunglasses - Women's

Oakley Forsake Sunglasses - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 April 15, 2011

I considered these for running but had concerns for wearing such big glasses. I ultimately said screw it, I need the coverage because I have pterigium in both eyes from being on the water/beach and running without any shades over the years. While these are not polarized, the lenses do a great job of blocking sun and the field of vision (because the lenses are so big) is awesome. I don't see frame just landscape. Little wind sneaks around to my eyes when I'm running yet they aren't so close the lenses fog. They are light frames so they are pretty unnoticeable for big black glasses on my face. Love them.

Great shades

Native Eyewear Bolt Interchangeable Sunglasses - Polarized

Native Eyewear Bolt Interchangeable Sunglasses - Polarized

Rating for this product: 4 March 18, 2010

I was introduced to Native Eyewear when I was looking for run glasses...I couldn't find any Oakleys I liked and the guy at the store recommended NE. LOVE my Hardtops. So when I saw these pop up for super sale I snagged them, hoping they'd fit like the hardtops. They do and I'm happy. I have a longish face so I like meaty glasses to fill it out. They fit great and are so light...my RayBans leave marks on my nose, these Bolts do not. Totally unisex. The only complaint is that the lens aren't as dark as I prefer...I have pterigium in both eyes and I need really dark glasses but these will suffice for shorter stints in the sun. Definitely try them!

Nice suit

Lolë Riviera Bottom - Women's

Lolë Riviera Bottom - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 November 10, 2008

I bought these bottoms to pair with the sumatra top by Lole and I love the bikini. The Sailor Blue is pretty much as you see in the photo, but brighter--great with a tan. I got the mediums in the bottoms despite other reviewers having said Lole bottoms ran large and they fit rather well-- not too tight, not too loose. The construction and fabric seem nice quality. I'm pleased, especially since they were on sale. But, in future I would consider paying full price for Lole bikinis like I do Patagonia.

Mountain Hardwear Monkey Woman Jacket - Women's

Mountain Hardwear Monkey Woman Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 16, 2007

I am not a huge Mountain Hardwear fan, but I took a chance and have to say that this jacket absolutely rocks! First, it is very warm--warmer than my Denali (neither are WindStopper). Second, the fit is amazing. Unlike my Denali, the Monkey Man is trim so I don't have cold air sneaking in or a lot of bulk from a cinched waist. This does run small. I got a Men's Small because I have long arms that Womens Medium does not accommodate and it fits like a dream. Oh, and the fleece is not like the shiny fur that The North Face used on its Thermal Denali, either. Mine Monkey Man is black and it is a flat black. Just a great looking very warm jacket.

LOVE these shades!

Oakley Crosshair S Sunglasses - Women's

Oakley Crosshair S Sunglasses - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 8, 2007

I have always wanted aviators but they are usually too big for my face. These are perfect. After wearing them for awhile you do start to notice their weight, but they aren't super heavy despite having sturdy metal frames. Very nice styling. I mildly regret getting the purple lenses, as they are only appropriate for cloudy/overcast conditions (should have gotten the darker lenses for the sunny beach). Highly recommended!

So comfy!

The North Face Classic Denali Fleece Jacket - Women's

The North Face Classic Denali Fleece Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 8, 2007

I own a few TNF jackets, and this one is as wonderful as the others. I was surprised, though, at how boxy it is. No matter, it is one of those jackets I keep on even after coming inside...it's just so comfy!! Note that it is not airtight...layer accordingly. And, despite what the black-jacket-purists might think, the colors this jacket come in are awesome!

Libra Pants

The North Face Libra Cargo Pant - Women's

The North Face Libra Cargo Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 November 2, 2006

I love A5 clothing and love these pants. A recommendation for those like me (5'8" with long legs), get the "long’s.” The material is thin so you don't want these for winter, but they fit great and wear pretty well (slightly stretch out while wearing).

R4 Jacket

Patagonia R4 Fleece Jacket - Women's

Patagonia R4 Fleece Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 November 2, 2006

This jacket feels like its made of carpet, but a very warm carpet. Used to roomier soft shells, my 1st impression was that the R4 is so fitted it's almost stiff. Once you get used to it though, you realize how warm it is. I haven't noticed any cold sneaking through, and I am always toasty. Love that it has long sleeves and a longer back. Another quality jacket from Patagonia.
