  • Stomping Grounds:

The Wasatch and the Grand Canyon
  • Bio:

I love to play. I grew up mainly in Salt Lake and have had access to some of the best places in the world. Right now I get to river guide in Grand Canyon during the summer and work in the hospital and at Snowbird in the winter so it's workin out pretty great. And, let's be honest, I've got a bit of a gear problem, so SAC and backcountry are perfect / trouble for me.

Montrail Highlander Trail Running Shoes - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 April 23, 2008

These shoes have been great. They felt pretty stiff and not very comfortable at first, but I have worn them a lot and I love them. The sole is great for trail running or even in the snow. The grippers on them are awesome. The super stylish mesh keeps my feet nice and cool too.

perfect for almost anything

prAna Bliss Short - Women's

prAna Bliss Short - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 April 2, 2007

I bought these shorts for a canyoneering / backpacking trip and they were perfect. The waistband is really not bulky and great for a back pack or a harness, however, they may be a little short for serious climbing. They are really comfortable, but I did have to buy a size larger than normal. I love these shorts!

Sweet Down

The North Face Flash Down Jacket - Women's

The North Face Flash Down Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 22, 2006

At first when I saw this jacket I thought it was a little to shiny, but it grew on me and I really love it and pretty much wear it everyday. It's really comfortable and doesn't get too warm, but with the 900 fill, it can keep you really warm when you need it to.

Good soft shell

The North Face Venus Ski Jacket - Women's

The North Face Venus Ski Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 December 22, 2006

This is a great soft shell jacket. The material is awesome and I like the hood. However, it's a little short for my liking. I'd maybe get a size bigger than I normally do, just so it's a little longer. Other than that, it's a great jacket!

I love this pack for everything!

DAKINE Ridge Backpack - 1900 cu in

DAKINE Ridge Backpack - 1900 cu in

Rating for this product: 5 December 22, 2006

I bought this pack for backcountry skiing, but have ended up using it for school, canyoneering, hiking and whatever else. It's great because it has the hydration pack, and I love the little pocket on the waist band. It makes taking pictures of your adventures quick and easy. The access from the front isn't great, but once I got used to just using the rear entry, I don't want to use anything else. Overall it's a great pack.

Great small frame glasses

Smith Vice Sunglasses - Polarized

Smith Vice Sunglasses - Polarized

Rating for this product: 5 December 22, 2006

These are the answer for a smaller face. They are built super tough with the techlite glass lenses, and I feel like they're heavy duty enough to handle my life! Great glasses over all.

Fabulous runners!

The North Face Ultra 103 XCR Trail Running Shoe - Women's

The North Face Ultra 103 XCR Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 22, 2006

These shoes are great for whatever condition you're running in. They keep your feet pretty dry when it's wet and muddy, but they've also got good enough traction that I've taken then canyoneering. They've been great in the desert also.

Water tested?

Nixon Lodown Watch - Men's

Nixon Lodown Watch - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 22, 2006

I am a river guide and was looking for a good watch that could handle the river, and when I saw this I thought, if it can handle surfing, it can handle the river. However, after about 2 months the light stopped working then a couple weeks later it just stopped working all together. I sent it in for a warranty and they sent me a new one of this year's model so it was good to get an upgrade, but I wasn't stoked that for the amount of money I spent it didn't last a little longer.

Rating for this product: 5 December 21, 2006

This is the answer to a comfortable night when you're backpacking! It's light and pretty compact, and I was really surprised at how comfortable and warm it was. I took it into the Wind Rivers and it was amazing.

I love the ZIP!

Petzl Zipka Headlamp

Petzl Zipka Headlamp

Rating for this product: 5 December 21, 2006

This is a great back-up headlamp. It's super light and fits anywhere. The LEDs aren't great for running at night, because I thought they made my depth perception a little weird, but over-all I loved it. Don't be over zealous with the zip thing though - my brother was playing around and it broke, but for the most part they're pretty sturdy.

Great down!

The North Face Allure Jacket - Women's

The North Face Allure Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 December 21, 2006

This is a great down jacket for most anything. It has tons of ski features that I love. I think North Face stuff runs a little big, especially with a down jacket. I bought a size smaller than normal and it fits great. The only thing I don't like about the jacket is it's not quite as cozy as some other down jackets I've had. It's made for the elements a little more, so it's a little more durable, but it's still comfy enough for around the fire.

sweet ninja shirt!

The North Face Moxie Hooded Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's

The North Face Moxie Hooded Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 21, 2006

I really like the fit of this shirt, and I think it's a great under a jacket or by itself. I love the sleeves with the thumb holes -it makes putting on gloves or another layer super easy. The zipper goes a little high, though - it goes all the way up to the bridge of my nose. But I guess that's the effect they're going for, and I felt like a ninja, so that's cool. I don't zip it very often anyway, and I wear it all the time and love it.

One would be enough!

Nixon Threesome Collection Watch - Women's

Nixon Threesome Collection Watch - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 20, 2006

One would be enough, but three is so much better! It's awesome to get three Nixon watches instead of one. The bands are easy to change, but not easy enough that they fall off. I've got the pink, red and white one, and it's a great watch, and I love that the face looks good with any of the bands.
