Cool shoes- slip on easily but stay on easily as well. My main pair of out and about town shoes. Just started wearing them, but they handle the rain, puddles, dirt, and debris without a problem. Wish they had more colors to choose from.

Good traction- maybe runs a bit large

Outdoor Research Gripper Glove - Women's

Outdoor Research Gripper Glove - Women's

Gloves are working great, but I could have probably bought a small for my wife instead of the medium. The gloves either run a tad large or my wife's hands have shrunk.

Better than Nalgene

CamelBak Better Bottle w/ Bite Valve - 1L

CamelBak Better Bottle w/ Bite Valve - 1L

Rating for this product: 5 November 13, 2008

1L is good all-around size vs .5L bottles. Bottom is large (not mine, but the bottle's) which can be a problem with your car's cup holders. If you're not familiar, bite valve is great.

Yakima LandShark - Set of 4

Yakima LandShark - Set of 4

Rating for this product: 4 November 13, 2008

Relatively cheap and effective, but bracket info is somewhat misleading. For a factory installed crossbar expect to purchase an adapter. Also, no problem mounting one sea kayak on top of an SUV, but 2 just can't squeeze in.

Osprey Packs Talon 44 Backpack - 2600-2700cu in

Osprey Packs Talon 44 Backpack - 2600-2700cu in

Rating for this product: 5 August 4, 2008

This pack has been great for on the go traveling. It's light, roomy, and versatile. The hip belt is comfortable, easily adjustable, and has convenient pockets, the camelbak stowage is accessible, and the stretchy front and side pockets allow easy access and venting. Things that could be improved: lots of straps hanging all over the place, more compartments to separate gear, and less cumbersome opening on top (tie strap and buckle). Overall, an awesome pack that's already earned it's money in Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, England, and Wales.

great jacket- long sleeves, though

Mountain Hardwear GTX 2.5 Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear GTX 2.5 Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 5, 2007

I love the jacket- just what I was looking for in terms of weight, packability, and protection. I plan to use this for snow skiing, snow shoeing, camping trips, and bike riding in the summer so I needed something quite versatile. So far, has met expectations. One note, the sleeves seem disproportionately long but haven't been a factor. Instead of wearing my gloves outside the jacket, I do the opposite.

xgk stove- as advertised?

MSR XGK EX Stove

MSR XGK EX Stove

Rating for this product: 3 October 17, 2005

This is my third stove I've owned. A big reason I picked it was the simmer capability. The stove lights easily and puts out plenty of heat. Unfortunately, it sounds like a jet engine. It's very loud. Also, the simmer capability goes from extremely hot to quite hot. To simmer adequately, I would alternate between off and the lowest setting. Not quite what I had in mind.
