Kelty Shiro Tent 6-Person 3-Season

Is this free standing? I know it will be more stable when staked down, but will it stand up without stakes?

Eureka N!ergy 1310 Tent with E! Power 10-Person 3-Season

June 30, 2009

The rain fly (the piece of fabric that goes over top of the tent- yellow in this case), needs to cover the entire tent for it keep you dry in the rain. Rain rarely falls straight down, so tents with rain fly's like this one that only cover the top of the tent are about as useful as an umbrella. An umbrella keeps your head dry, but your feet are going to be wet.
