Dirt Shield

Black Diamond Betamid Shelter Floor

Black Diamond Betamid Shelter Floor

Rating for this product: 1 May 19, 2006

When buying the Betamid I tossed up whether I should get the floor at the same time and in the end I bought it. Well, my first outing I trusted it and decided not to pack my bivy bag. After all, buying the betamid was to save weight. The first night I camped in it was a bad weather night on Wilson's Prom, the southern most tip of mainland Australia. It rained and rained, and soon I woke up in an inch of water, the thing should at least keep some of the water out? Never has, I only use it as a dirt shield to stop sand getting into my gear and always use my bivy bag, I'm also very careful where I set it up. I would have probably have been better spending the extra cash on some plastic to line my tent.

Chaco Zong Sandal - Men's

Chaco Zong Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 15, 2005

I've had my Zongs for 3 years now, and they are still going strong. Living in Australia, I wear them a lot and the straps have lasted a lot longer than my Z2s. I have no problems keeping them on; in fact, I can walk up steep wet slopes faster than a mate in Tevas with a backstrap. They also go well with jeans.
