Osprey Packs Quantum Backpack - 2075cu in
March 17, 2012
I've put a 3L Osprey Bladder in the sleeve and it worked just fine. The Osprey Bladder has it's own support system not needing to hang...You'll probably/maybe need to change out the mouth piece on the tube to make routing easier then again maybe not. I've also used a 32oz Nalgene bottle in the side pocket, it all depends how you pack your Quantum. Less on the inside, more on the outside, more on the inside, less on the outside....

I've been able to put a poncho into the pocket(Folded) and another time a set of knee pads with four packets of hand warmers and also at another time a climbing rope 40' long rolled up.. NOT ALL AT THE SAME TIME.. Just an idea of what the mesh stretch pocket can be used for....Way to small for a helmet....

Black Diamond Trail Trekking Pole
January 29, 2011
Like any else in life, things wear out depending on how often and where you use'em, but the tips can be replaced. a very simple proceeder: take a crescent wrench, slip it around bottom section of pole adjust wrench to the pole (Not to tight)and tap with a downward motion at the top of the tip housing section. Once you've removed the tip housing, replace the new tip housing on to the pole by hand, then to sit new tip strike carbide tip to hard surface to set new tip on to the pole... Easy

Black Diamond Trail Trekking Pole

There are rubber boot covers for the carbide tips, they help from scratching rocks, slippage on hard rocky surfaces and deep penetration into soft
ground, saving the baskets from being damaged.I also leave the boot covers on when I'm ready to transport the poles in my Osprey 65 Porter Gear Bag, so that no holes will be punched through my pack. I use them all the time, they work great....
