Rating for this product: 3 October 15, 2009

I've had the TALON 22 for afew weeks now and its worked out just fine. "BUT" I'm not to happy with the zippers closures on the hip belt, maybe velcro closures would have been better ???? Having some trouble when pulling on the zipper tabs when trying to close the pockets again....

Osprey Packs Talon 22 Backpack - 1200-1300cu in

Rating for this product: 4 August 26, 2009

Plenty of pockets for the smaller items that I carry.. More room then I expected in the main compartment, I can now carry my Tarp Tent. Just wished it had one more gear loop on the(left side)of the pack. Other then that, "it'll work.." The T22 fits under my poncho when in the rain.. Another Osprey quality made backpack just like the others that I own.."Thanks again to BackCountry for their outstanding services."

Black Diamond Trail Shock Trekking Pole

Black Diamond Trail Shock Trekking Pole

Rating for this product: 5 July 10, 2009

I've had nothing but good responses from Blk.Diamond(SLCity,Utah) concerning the maintenance and other various questions concerning my BD-TS-CST trekking poles.

The only problem I've had so far is the Cam Lever pins have been backing out on the bottom two flicklock units. Called BD and have new locks on the way..

Thank you Blk.Diamond(SLCity,Ut.)

twist there.
* The rubber/hard plastic boot that is suppose to keep out the dirt from the inner side of the shaft didn't work very well.
* The ergo soft handle grips made my palms sweaty/wet.

Mountain Hardwear Agama Backpack - 1850cu in

Mountain Hardwear Agama Backpack - 1850cu in

Rating for this product: 5 June 6, 2009

Outstanding little backpack, Can tuck straps away into pockets when not in use. The little pocket on shoulder harness holds my leatherman, Front mesh pocket holds my climbing rope, Hydration bag doesn't take up all the space in main compartment, Side pockets hold my trekking poles, along with my native flute. Belt can be removed and put away in pack till needed.. There could be other little tricks I haven't found out about yet. But I got a feeling that we'll be spending alot of time in the bush together to get acquainted....... Semper Fi

Mountain Hardwear Supernatural 40 Backpack - 2450cu in

Rating for this product: 5 May 2, 2009

The Super Natural 40 backpack can go above and beyond. Pack the gear inside and strap on the extra(coat, sleeping bag,OR attach The (Osprey Daylite Day Pack)for alittle more hauling capacity.
The straping system is very impressive(2 extra straps come w/ the pack.)
The Harness system is like anything else NEW, it has to be worn(broke in)to form with the body.Only using the pack and time will tell. NO rain cover or main compartment mesh pocket come with the model.. Thank you Backcountry for your services another outstand job....

Osprey Packs Stratos 40 Backpack - 2200-2600cu in

Rating for this product: 3 May 1, 2009

Its a nice little backpack. But the backpack framing system(Arch on the inside.) Takes up way to much room inside of the main compartment. And waist belt set up is another draw back, One belt would seem to be sufficient and the straping system way to many loose ends dangling and the hydration system(Exterior sleeve)alittle hard getting the water bag in and out of it... It would make a nice little day pack....

Kelty Redwing Backpack - 2650-3100cu in

Rating for this product: 4 April 26, 2009

Looks like a pack that can handle just about anything. Liked all the extra pockets,(expect they took away from the main compartment in (cu.in.)So it made the main compartment smaller than I expected it to be. Don't really need the front panel pocket or half the size.. No hydration bag hook inside the water sleeve to hold the water bag up right(If that might matter to some.)The colors could be alittle darker..1300 fit me nicely at a 18.5in. torso....Just need to try it on....

Kelty Redwing Backpack - 2650-3100cu in

Rating for this product: 3 April 6, 2009

Estimation: give up 700cu.in. to smaller pockets/panel pocket and this leaves the main compartment with
2400cu.in. Great pack but need a larger main compartment. This pack with all it's pockets can haul alot of gear. This 3100 would be my second choice to what I've already ordered. Color it black with no reflecting colors(Gray areas)and it would make a great hunting back-pack....A well made pack with quilty materials....

Stockier Torso....

Osprey Packs Stratos 40 Backpack - 2200-2600cu in

Osprey Packs Stratos 40 Backpack - 2200-2600cu in

Rating for this product: 4 April 6, 2009

With all its dangling strap ends and a back frame that takes getting use to, Not a bad (2400cu.in.Backpack)..It can surprisingly pack away the gear.
The back panel hydration cavity is alittle hard to enter with a bladder bag. The wasit belt system could be alot simpler doing away with the two belt system. The frame could be made alittle more wider(contoured for a more stockier torso.) Had forgotten all about the side entrance zipper on the left side of the bag, handy little unit.. Enough strap on the compression wings to place a light sleeping bag there. Can do a over nighter with this outfit....Only time will tell what it can handle....

Kelty Redwing Backpack - 2650-3100cu in

Rating for this product: 3 April 2, 2009

Returned: Way to many loose strap ends and the gray colored areas were way to light in color.. (Alot of pockets and the removable waist-belt is a plus, The options for water bottles or hydration bag is another great move by Kelty.) Maybe a solid colors would change my mind about buying this backpack again..(Black or a darker woods green.)

Hydrolock Valve

CamelBak Hydrolock

CamelBak Hydrolock

Rating for this product: 4 February 22, 2009

I just bought the HYROLOCK Shut-off valve today to replace my Bite valve. It works so much better. You might want to get a bigger water Bladder cause the water flow is so much better and easier. You can operate this little unit with one hand with no problem. You can still put another in line if your still worried about getting a little water on your gear. Outstanding little product.

Osprey Packs Porter 46 Backpack - 2800cu in

Rating for this product: 5 February 12, 2009

The 46 is small enough to to be placed on the back seat with all my gear in place. Just in case of an emergency. It can also can double as a back pack(padded shoulder straps)Do not over load and it will work just fine.. The compression strap system works great for keeping inside load in place and also for placing extra gear(Trekking poles)when not in use. Can also fold down to be placed inside The porter 90 if need be. The Porter 46 has served me will in travel and in the field. Hydration bag can be placed in outter long front compartment... ""Do Not over load when using as back pack, This gear hauler is not a backpack.... But you will appreciate its versatility..

Gear Hauler

Osprey Packs Porter 65 Backpack - 3900cu in

Osprey Packs Porter 65 Backpack - 3900cu in

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2009

Make it be understood that these two Ospery Porter Packs(65-90) are NOT made for long distance hiking but for carrying gear from vehicle/Helicopter to the room. The shoulder harness and shoulder strap make it alot easier then dragging your bags up a flight stairs or on small wheels through the sand. I like the option of carrying my bag/gear on my shoulders or on the back, If need be strapped to my guide frame which is ment for long distance packing gear or game.... I am very happy with with my Porter 90 and when I feel I need a smaller gear/clothing hauler I will be looking at the Porter 65. I have other (Back)packs with detachable day packs that will take me into the sticks or canyons for days..
