Petzl Tactikka Plus Headlamp

Petzl Tactikka Plus Headlamp

Rating for this product: 4 May 10, 2012

Has enough light for trail walking and dims down easily to save on battery power. The red lens cover flips up and down easily too to help with the night vision, you don't have to continually push a button trying to find the red night vision light. Weighs very little.... The Red Lens Cover(flipping up and down)takes alittle getting use to..

Platypus Insulator Hydration System

Platypus Insulator Hydration System

Rating for this product: 5 April 25, 2012

Outstanding! Like the idea of being able to remove the tube before placing the reservoir in the refrigerator. The insulator pouch was well thought out, being able to carry it by the handle/hang inside pack or the "D" ring attachments and also being able to see inside the reservoir. This will be my new Platypus Insulator hydration system's first field excursion....

Its alittle on the large side for my(Osprey Quantum),

Osprey Packs Quasar Backpack - 1831cu in

Rating for this product: 4 April 5, 2012

Like the extra pocket on the front of my NEW Quasar Pack, don't miss the mesh which was on my Ouantum, I don't miss the 1/2"in the main compartment that I gave up,still packing all that I need with room to spare in my NEW Quasar. Both are great backpacks. Wish Osprey would get rid of the elastic bands on the right shoulder harness strap (they stretch out shape)and go with what they have on the left shoulder harness(Nylon Cloth)on both sides..

BURIED DEEP

Mountain Hardwear Snow and Sand Tent Anchor

Mountain Hardwear Snow and Sand Tent Anchor

Rating for this product: 3 March 29, 2012

Having tested them in the sand. They have to be buried deep and pack down good to the top of the webbing and even then it depends on how large your tent is, for them to hold and how strong the wind is blowing. I'm trying them on a Kelty Sunshade 10'X 10'.. They are made very well, but just wish the pockets were alittle larger/wider. I'll keep them for my smaller tent and hopefully they'll work on both tent and Kelty Sunshade dome....

Osprey Packs Exos 34 Backpack - 1900-2200cu in

Rating for this product: 4 March 28, 2012

The Exos34(M) is a well made(Little)backpack, afew more straps then I wanted but they can be tucked away. Very comfortable to wear, seem to lighten the load that I had put in it. Returning it for The 46(M). The 34(M) was just alittle to small for what I needed it for. The Jungle Green, very low profile. Very nice little backpack.

Osprey Packs Quantum Backpack - 2075cu in

March 17, 2012

I've put a 3L Osprey Bladder in the sleeve and it worked just fine. The Osprey Bladder has it's own support system not needing to hang...You'll probably/maybe need to change out the mouth piece on the tube to make routing easier then again maybe not. I've also used a 32oz Nalgene bottle in the side pocket, it all depends how you pack your Quantum. Less on the inside, more on the outside, more on the inside, less on the outside....

Osprey Packs Porter 65 Backpack - 3900cu in

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2009

Make it be understood that these two Ospery Porter Packs(65-90) are NOT made for long distance hiking but for carrying gear from vehicle/Helicopter to the room. The shoulder harness and shoulder strap make it alot easier then dragging your bags up a flight stairs or on small wheels through the sand. I like the option of carrying my bag/gear on my shoulders or on the back, If need be strapped to my guide frame which is ment for long distance packing gear or game.... I am very happy with with my Porter 90 and when I feel I need a smaller gear/clothing hauler I will be looking at the Porter 65.
