Marmot Helium Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

Marmot Helium Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 September 9, 2009

Hands down, this is the best bag in my arsenal. Make certain you use it for the temperature it's designed for. Not a bag for 35 F or warmer. Packs down tight and light, also finds its loft real quick with a toss of the hand. This bag is so comfy you'll end up taking it when it's 45 F and you'll sweat all over the place so i'd recommend a liner.

Brunton My-TI Folding Spork

Brunton My-TI Folding Spork

Rating for this product: 4 September 9, 2009

I've been looking for this spork all of my life. i don't have to bend the handle until it breaks in half. It fits perfectly in my Trek 900 cook set along with my fuel and stove. No more lost spork! The only problem is that my grub sticks in the hinge of the handle which makes cleaning a little more complex. i just leave it as seasoning for the next meal!

Kill the Boulder!

KEEN Voyageur Mid Hiking Shoe - Men's

KEEN Voyageur Mid Hiking Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 16, 2009

Best pair of light hikers i've ever owned! I wouldn't strap a 60lb. pack on while wearing them, but for day hikes or overnighters they dominate. Great traction on wet boulders, scree fields and anything else you want to throw at them. As advertised, they are more of a shoe than a boot. I've had mine for about 100 miles of hiking and they are standing up just fine. Come on Keen, make a backpacking boot for me!

My Gal Likey

KEEN Genoa Peak Mid WP Hiking Boot - Women's

KEEN Genoa Peak Mid WP Hiking Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 7, 2009

Bought these as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend. It was love at first step! We took them out for a test run on a local 5 mile trail and she couldn't believe how comfy the were. Went out on another trail with lots of stream crossings and her feet stayed dry. SHE LOVES ME.

One week in the Bitterroots

The North Face Fortress Peak GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

The North Face Fortress Peak GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 September 18, 2008

I just got back from a seven day journey through the Bitterroots of Idaho. First trip in the new boots. The reviews were right, they definitely run a 1/2 size big. I normally wear size 11 but had to send them back and get the 10 1/2. They handled me and my 60 pound pack for 10 miles w/o a problem. I have only one complaint about the boot. You can't trust them on wet rocks. Great for hiking, bad for boulder hopping.

Great Cargo's, Best Service Around

Burton Cargo Pant - Men's

Burton Cargo Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 11, 2008

This website is the KING! First let me say that these pants are fantastic. Keep you warm when you need to be warm and cool when you need to be cool (vents on inner thigh). I left one of the cargo pockets (and some skin) in a tree during flight on the first day I wore them, but the pant remained totally intact, not one tear. Called BC and they swapped me a new pair for the old ones, plus pocket with no cost to me at all!

Snow Peak Trek 700 Titanium Cooker

Snow Peak Trek 700 Titanium Cooker

Rating for this product: 3 June 21, 2007

The Trek 700 Titanium Cooker is great if you don't have to boil much water. The handles get hot when the liquid level is above them. Better watch the lid also. You also can't fit the big snow peak gas cannister and stove inside. Think I should have went with the Trek 900.

Big Rock River Sandals

KEEN Newport H2 Sandal - Men's

KEEN Newport H2 Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 August 26, 2005

The Newport H2 Sandals are great for working water with big rocks. The toe guard sure saved my digits.
One complaint: if the river you're riding has small rocks in the bed you'll be digging them out of your sandals all day.
