Kelty rain pack cover Large

Kelty Backpack Rain Cover

Kelty Backpack Rain Cover

Rating for this product: 3 August 29, 2005

The cover worked out all right on a seven day trip, it rained every day at some point in time. It kept my pack dry for the most part. It seemed like it was too small for a Gregory 5200ci pack, it just barely fit over my Therma-rest strapped on at the bottom of my pack. From above my bottle holders on the side, to just barely fitting over my Therma-rest was all exposed. If it was pouring rain that part would have been soaked. The attached stuff bag was too big which made for bulky storage, I actually put my rain jacket in there with the pack cover. My friend had a Gregory pack cover for his 7000ci Gregory that I really liked.

sombrero hat Mountain Hardware

Mountain Hardwear Epic Sombrero

Mountain Hardwear Epic Sombrero

Rating for this product: 4 August 29, 2005

This hat is great! My only complaint was its breathability, on steep ascends I would just loosely set the hat on my head, like Elmer Fudd, so that my head could breath. I loved the waterproof part, I was the only one on my last outing with a completely waterproof hat, they had to wear their rain jacket hoods, and I was still sportin' the hat. Very lightweight and packs very well.
