POC Iris X Goggle

December 10, 2009

Hi Bill,
I have the Skull X helmet and the small Iris X goggle (I'm female) and I've been wearing both for several years now. So the answer is an emphatic YES! Any of the POC goggles is compatible with their helmets. I just purchased a second pair of Iris X goggles from BC since they were on sale and I wanted a backup pair. I love these goggles. Just don't leave them on your helmet when you remove the helmet from your head and you are carrying the helmet:} They will fall off and scratch the lenses or worse, you will lose them. Put them inside the helmet in their bag. The back of the bands on all of the POC goggles has non-skid rubber. This keeps them in place while you are wearing them without a goggle clip. You can still push them up in the front and they will stay in place. But they will definitely fall off the helmet if you are carrying the helmet with them on the helmet. You will love any of the goggles with the helmet. I really like the blue lens that comes with the Iris X.
I had a new pair (one season) of the Zeal photochromatic goggles when I first bought the POC stuff. I couldn't wear them with the POC helmet because they didn't have the non-skid rubber. But I like the lenses on the Iris X much more than the Zeal, and I also like the way they fit my face. Hope this helps.

DAKINE Targa GT Glove - Women's

DAKINE Targa GT Glove - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 November 2, 2007

The reason that I'm giving it a 2 is that although it's being sold as a "womens" glove, and the manufacturer does have "ladies" on the inside tag, this is actually a "junior" glove. Check out the size chart and the size chart is correct. Any adult woman would wear an XLG. The cardboard that the gloves are attached to, clearly states "girls" gloves. This is not entirely Backcountry's fault, because the manufacturer is so unclear. Also, the price is a lot higher than most "junior" gloves. If you like the glove, than order an extra large if you wear a 6.5 or 7, which is a small adult hand. Anyone larger should pass. Also, think the glove is overpriced for the quality. There are a lot of gloves on the market at this price point that are better. Glove looks good cosmetically, but that is the best that I can say. A size Large was too small for my size 7 hand. Did not have a chance to try the XLG, as they were out of stock. Do not recommend this glove!

Nixon The Misfit Watch - Women's

Nixon The Misfit Watch - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 November 2, 2007

This is a great sports watch for the active woman. The band needs to be cut to size, and the manufacturer doesn't stat5e that in their insert. I had to call the manufacturer to validate this. Easy to cut, but it should be mentioned in the insert. You will like the custom sizing once you cut it to size.

Best convertible pant for the petite woman on the market!

The North Face Paramount Porter Convertible Pant - Women's

The North Face Paramount Porter Convertible Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 July 18, 2006

Being only 5'2", it has been next to impossible to find a convertible pant made that the shorts were short enough. The description mentioned that they had a lower rise waist and a shorter short than the Paramount Convertible, so I decided to give them a try. I ordered them in a size 6 Short (I weigh 116) and Bingo..the shorts were perfect. I still needed to have the pants hemmed even in the Short length, but I always have to, so this was no surprise. The shorts hit my leg in just the right place. All other convertible pants shorts are way too long on me. They are very comfortable and fit me perfectly in the rise as well. I also like a lower rise waist, so these are the ones for me. I ordered two pair in two different colors. Definitely recommend for anyone who prefers a shorter short than most of the convertible pants out there.

Runs small

Patagonia Capilene Sports Top C/D - Women's

Patagonia Capilene Sports Top C/D - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 September 5, 2005

I did not like this bra at all. It runs small and is very uncomfortable. I wear a 34 C and bought a medium and it was way too tight. The large would have been too big and would have offered no support. I found the CW-X Sport Support Bra much better and the price isn't that much more. The Patagonia Capilene panties are very nice but I definitely didn't like this bra.

The bra gave great support. A little snug underneath for all-day wear. I ordered a medium and wear a 34 C bra. I used it for trail riding in the high country and wore it all day. Definitely gave me the support I needed for horseback trail riding, but I was also glad to take it off at the end of the day.
