Thule Big Mouth Bike Mount

I've had the Thule Big Mouth for a year. I've also forgot a bike was on top and drove into the garage twice. I wouldn't recommend doing that, but the good news is that if you do this rack is designed to allow the bike to break off instead of damaging the fork.

Broke these poles 3rd time out

Joystick The Carbon Ski Poles

Joystick The Carbon Ski Poles

Rating for this product: 2 April 1, 2008

If you are looking for a light, in-bounds ski pole and you are fairly easy on your equipment - this might be a good choice. They are very light weight. However, the the point at the bottom of the pole is so short that they don't stand upright in the snow - instead they fall over. If you are looking for a backcountry pole - this is not a good choice. I broke one of these poles on just the third time out - quite a way into a tour no less. They say they are carbon but it definitely looks like plastic in the middle with carbon around the edges. This site has been fabulous during the return process though!

Obsession with this Jacket

Backcountry.com Wool Hooded Jacket - Women's

Backcountry.com Wool Hooded Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 14, 2008

I am so glad I bought this jacket - I've barely taken it off since I bought it! The sizing is perfect - definitely not on the small size - looks good whether you have a t-shirt or sweater on and I have to agree with the no-itch part - having polar fleece under the wool makes it comfy now matter if the layer underneath is a T-shirt or not. Blocks the wind great too! If the performance wasn't enough - the look is killer - sporting the goat tastefully without looking like a billboard advertisement the way some of the hoodies are out there!
