Stomping Grounds:
VA and surrouning areas, Oregon, where ever there is fun to be had. -
Bio:
I became very sick 3 years ago and ended up in the hospital. Since then they cant tell me whats wrong but I have issues like arthritis, dizzyness etc. I cant do many of the activities to the full extent I love and need to. However, I am fighting and I will do what I can when I can. I have always been an avid outdoor person. I tell you this because this is what seems to define my life these days. About a week after I wrote this and after 3 years the neurologist I have seen off and on finally made a diagnosis, BPPV which in itself went on to cause stress that went on to cause ulcers and all of it started probably because of a sinus infection. Man... Anyway the good news is once you know whats wrong you can work to fix or ignore it. The moral, never put off tommorow what you can do today. If you are on the fence about the time or money it takes to have some fun, dont be because one day you may find yourself in a hospital bed and never getting out of it.
My gear order:
Arc'teryx - love it but way way overpriced and made in China to boot. These guys must be raking in the dough.
Marmmot - Absolutley the best quailty to price ratio gear on the market hands down.
North Face - a couple steps below Marmmot, I rarely buy North Face these days.
Mountain Hardware - most of their gear just doesnt have a fit and polished look. Still they offer technical items that others dont so I always look at their stuff.
Outdoor Research - same as Mountain Hardware.

Arc'teryx Rho AR Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's
February 13, 2012
So I just recieved the new size in the mail and have been wearing it a while. Honestly I am cold as hell with it on. I took off a long sleeve cotton shirt and it was warmer? Its like this thing has air conditioning built in. Really, its so funny and strange I am almost laughing as I type this. My question is, is this like Mysterioso in that in insulates better when wet?
Dave thanks for the info. I never thought about it that way. Honestly I have not put this to the test yet, (heavy movement) but I have to say its pretty amazing from just sitting around in it.

Demon Snow Flex-Force Pro Top Body Armor - Men's
February 8, 2012
There are plastic inserts that ride over the top of foam in the elbow and shoulder areas. The plastic in these areas is removable, the foam is not. The back area is covered in a foam layer and then a foam covered plastic piece that rides over the top of it. Again the foam is not removable but the foam covered plastic is. There are a series of three panels on the back like this. In the front is some rib cage protection that is not removable. There are only two adjustment areas. The first is where the elbow pad is, the adjustmet is to help keep the elbow pad in place. The other is on the right and left a little up from where you kidneys are. I think the idea with this is to help make a snug fit around the rib cage area. Thats it.
