The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket - Men's

The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 28, 2005

This jacket has become quite popular recently, and for good reason! It fits really well and it isn’t too heavy. I wore it while summiting Mt. Redcloud in Colorado and it kept me really warm the whole time. My only complaint is that it’s not much of a wind-stopper. With a shirt or two underneath it’s just fine, and in everyday situations it’s great. My favorite part of this jacket is the chest pockets. They are great for keeping things close at hand. Not to mention the great fit, it really is a good-looking jacket. I would recommend this jacket to anyone.

My first Anasazi

Five Ten Anasazi VCS C4 Sole Climbing Shoe

Five Ten Anasazi VCS C4 Sole Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 5 August 25, 2005

These are my first, but certainly not my last pair of Anasazi's. I bought the same size as my street shoe, and they fit really tightly. I could have gone a half a size up, but there is no need to. They hurt like hell the first few hours of climbing but once you get past that (second time climbing) they rock. It’s really amazing what I can stick to now. I can edge on the texture at the indoor gyms! Once I got used to climbing in these shoes was able to truly trust my feet for the first time. Since I bought these shoes I have successfully completed several problems that I just couldn’t do with my old mad rocks! They are the best shoes for the money!

Garmin eTrex Legend

Garmin eTrex Legend

Rating for this product: 5 July 18, 2005

This GPS is awesome! Its map feature is really nice and I still haven’t run out of memory. If you can afford the Garmin software it’s nice to be able to download detailed maps onto the GPS. The base map is comes with is good, but it’s really nice to have street by street details. It’s more features than I really use, and it’s super accurate. I often get down to 5 feet accuracy with this GPS. I have owned it for 2 years and it still looks brand new, despite many climbs and long hiking trips. If you want a lot of features for a lower price it’s the best one out there. You can’t beat the eTrex series!

Simply amazing

Nalgene Lexan Wide Mouth Water Bottle - 32oz DO NOT USE

Nalgene Lexan Wide Mouth Water Bottle - 32oz DO NOT USE

Rating for this product: 5 July 18, 2005

I have seen these bottles dropped from 50ft and land full of water on the sharp edge of granite, and bounce off hardly scraped. Friends of mine have dropped them off huge cliffs in Colorado full of water in an attempt to break them, and they never succeed. Bottles shouldn’t be so strong. If you’re a climber you shouldn’t go without these. You can’t risk not having water because a bottle broke; you need something you can trust.
