More breathable than windstopper

Arc'teryx Trident Hooded Softshell Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Trident Hooded Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 16, 2007

Not having a windproof membrane, the Trident breathes much better than "windproof" jackets do. Great for pushing hard in weather where other jackets would make you sweat too much. However, the jacket is very wind resistant and water resistant. Hood is a nice feature, rare for a softshell. This jacket is not for hard-core weather, but is almost perfect for typical cool, damp NW weather.

Stick like glue

Black Diamond Sabretooth Pro Crampon

Black Diamond Sabretooth Pro Crampon

Rating for this product: 4 October 23, 2006

Excellent crampon for mountaineering. Comfortable on snow with the antibot plates, very nimble on glacier ice. Front-point very well on steep and vertical ice. Quite versatile and relatively lightweight. One minor complaint: the paint job isn't real durable, so expect scratches and chipped paint if these are used in mixed/rocky conditions. Construction is bomb-proof, however.

Ultimate sweatpants for rich climbers!

Arc'teryx Tau Pant - Men's

Arc'teryx Tau Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 16, 2006

These pants are awesome for keeping warm during active pursuits. Warmer than most windstopper type fleece because the inside is fleecy and the outside is smooth. They block wind and are tougher than fleece. Pockets are only good for small things, maybe chapstick and a credit card. They layer well, fit awesome and Arc'teryx quality cannot be beat.

Very breathable running shoe

Salomon XA Pro 3D Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Salomon XA Pro 3D Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 17, 2005

Very good breathability, feet are quite comfortable when worn along with a wicking sock. I have narrow feet, and love the Salomons, nice narrow heel but plenty of room for the toes. Lacing is a cinch. I felt sure-footed on trails and plenty of cushioning for pavement. I have quite a few pairs of running shoes, these are among my favorites.
