Arc'teryx Palisade Pant - Men's

Arc'teryx Palisade Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 29, 2011

You get what you pay for. I have owned these pants for about 6-months and they have gone and done everything in comfort and style, sometimes for multiple days at a time. These pants have seen trails, bikes, harnesses, crags, rivers and even a fancy dinner or two and handled them all like a champ. Washed many times w/o issue, doesn't stain any worse than any other material, and is very abrasion resistant. In addition, kudos to Arc' for providing pants for people over 6-feet tall. Most other manufacturers think the world ends at a 32-inch inseam, but not Arc'.

Given Backcountry's unparalleled return policy and the Arc'teryx LIFETIME warranty(great customer service too), I don't think you can go wrong.

Toasty Mitts

Hestra XCR Mitt

Hestra XCR Mitt

Rating for this product: 5 March 5, 2009

If your hands get cold in these, then you probably have a circulation problem! These are "waterproof ovens" for your hands and the quality of these mitts can't be beat.

Good pack for most of us

Black Diamond Bandit AvaLung Package

Black Diamond Bandit AvaLung Package

Rating for this product: 5 March 5, 2009

It kills me to see people give products poor ratings for size when the size/capacity is listed! Yes, it is 690cu in small, but I have been able to pack (1) pair of gloves, (1) pair of sunglasses, (1) Sigg 0.6L water bottle, (1) hat, (1) light fleece underlayer, (1) transceiver, (1) 2-way radio, (1) ziplock of jerky, dried mango and fruit snacks and (1) wallet...all at the same time w/o any trouble! I could probably fit some skins in there too. This is a slick, well designed, minimalist pack that makes a lot of sense for all those who know how to pack a pack and don't want/need to look like a sherpa. If you need more capacity, check out the Outlaw or Covert.

Great Helmet, so-so audio

Smith Hustle Skullcandy Audio Helmet

Smith Hustle Skullcandy Audio Helmet

Rating for this product: 4 March 4, 2009

The fit, airflow and styling of this helmet is great! I have POC Lobes goggles and they integrate very nicely. The audio jack in the earflap is something to be desired. Mine floats around and I have to search for it when plugging in. I don't know if this is isolated or a bigger problem.

Two thumbs up!

Oakley Hijinx Sunglasses - Polarized

Oakley Hijinx Sunglasses - Polarized

Rating for this product: 5 March 4, 2009

Yeah, they are big(not obnoxious). To list these for a "medium" face is a bit much, but if you can provide a med/lrg face, you will love these glasses! Great optics, huge field of view and the O Matter frames are superlight, comfy and strong.

Great pack, customer service

Arc'teryx Silo 40 Backpack - 2319-2746cu in

Arc'teryx Silo 40 Backpack - 2319-2746cu in

Rating for this product: 5 March 4, 2009

Super comfy, bullet proof construction and if you have issues, Arc'teryx has customer service right up there w/ backcountry.com. Been attaching my board to this pack all winter and the system is holding up like new! Fish-mouth opening makes it so easy to pack and offers great accessibility to anywhere within the pack. Really slick design and clean-looking; not too much going on on the outside so you don't look like you belong in the Himalayas.
