Very breathable, water resistant, warm

Hestra Heli Glove

Hestra Heli Glove

Rating for this product: 5 December 29, 2011

Compared them to numerous gloves including the BD Guide, Marmot, Burtons, Grandoe, North Face and found the Hestra Heli glove had the best combination. Boarded with them in the rain, in a blizzard, in -30 deg Celsuis, and under 30-45km/hr winds and they were always warm, water resistant, and breathable. Always kept wool icebreaker liners in my pockets but never had to use them. The leather does get wet after awhile especially after having a snowball fight but my hands never got wet or cold. The inner liners are really warm and comfortable and go higher than others in the gauntlets which is nice. The gauntlets are easy to tighten and loosen and the leashes are very useful. I conditioned the leather with the Hestra conditioner/protector even at the end of the fingertips and also the sides of the fingers so maybe that's why I never felt any wind go through them at all even in high winds. The liner dries out really quickly and if the leather is wet, it takes a bit longer.
As other reviewers have said, all my friends were complaining of chilly fingers when my hands were still very toasty. Would definitely recommend them.
