Merrell Trail Glove Shoe - Men's

This is a close to nothing as you can wear. While there is going to be a "learning" period with this type of shoe, these are great barfoot running shoes. The Vibram sole is thick enough that you dont feel every piece of pea gravel, and it gives great traction, even on ice. These shoes are not insulated at all, so you may want to look into the gore-tex version for winter, but these will be my shoe of choice for the other three seasons.

I cant believe the price!

Marmot Gravity Softshell Jacket - Men's

Great softshell for cold weather. The cut/construction are perfect for hegh energy activities. The sleeve length keeps them from riding up when reaching and there is no pulling accross the back. The collar has a great backing and is just ridged enough to stand up and bloke the wind. This works great as an outerlayer when working hard, but is thin enough that you can layer a hard shell over the top when you stop moving and not feel like Ralphie in "A Christmas Story".

Sierra Designs Down Bootie Slipper - Little Boys'

My son loves them and the have great traction, but the tops is very narrow, he cant put them on himself (he is four) becuase of how tight the tops are. there is a togle and draw cord, but i cant see why anyone would use it as my skinny four year old's leg fill the upper of the slipper. I cant recommend these for anyone with small children, unless you want to be helping them with the slippers every time it is cold. I would return them if he wasnt so attached, to be honest they were on sale and the $20 is worth not having to look at his little sad face if he loses his new slippers.

not washer/dryer friendly

Arc'teryx Phase SV Zip-Neck Top - Men's

very snug fit and very comfortable, does a great job wicking moisture so that you don't freeze when you stop moving. the outside surface is smooth and does not grab at your other layers so everything stays put. The silicone tag melted/shriveled in the dryer and had to be cut out, I'm guessing it shouldn't have been washed with the "normal" clothes.

Sorel Falcon Ridge Slipper - Men's

My wife got me these for Christmas this year, so far they are great. My only concern right now is that there are little balls of the wool lining coming out, I'm pretty sure this is to be expected as they are new. Great traction, i have run outside a few times to grab something and I haven't had any issues with sliding or water soaking through. Be careful with the upper, as the suede doesn't seem to have any treatment to prevent spots from "staining".

great boot

Timberland Rugged Leather 6in Boot - Men's

I bought these boots to wear out in town this winter, something to keep my feet dry and still look good. There is absolutely no insulation in these boots so pair them with a some wool socks. They are comfortable right out of the box and take not time to break in. There is more than enough traction on the sole to work in snow and ice and well as mud and rain. The boots clean right off with very little effort.

Great shirt, read the label...

SmartWool Lathrop Button-Neck Sweater - Men's

Great sweater, I wear the XL at 6'4'' 220lbs. Washing by hand is a bit of a pain and I am constantly pulling of the balled-up bits on the lower arms. This sweater is stupid warm, it is too much for indoors after a few minutes. If you are heading out into the cold for a while this is what you are looking for, it is great for the outdoor christmas markets here in Germany.
