Good quality but seriously tapered legs

Patagonia Torrentshell Pant - Women's

Patagonia Torrentshell Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 July 20, 2010

The Patagonia H2No waterproof/breathable fabric is awesome, but I ended up returning these pants due to the aggressively tapered legs: the legs taper to quite a narrow opening that was a very tight fit to zip over hiking boots and pretty darn unflattering.

I wear these under thick trekking socks and waterproof socks. They are super comfy and wick moisture well.

Good quality but poor fit

The North Face Venture Pant - Women's

The North Face Venture Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 July 9, 2010

These pants were great quality, but the fit was terrible: very big with a super high waist. Sizing down didn't solve the problem because the waist still came up WAY too high to be comfortable. I had to return them. This is disappointing as these pants are otherwise well designed and a good deal.

Great fit, gear stays dry

Arc'teryx Bora 75 Backpack Women's - 4128-4760cu in

Arc'teryx Bora 75 Backpack Women's - 4128-4760cu in

Rating for this product: 5 July 28, 2005

Arc’teryx is one of the few companies that makes women's packs in a tall size. The fit was excellent (I am 5'10"), and I comfortably carried ~35 pounds over 4 days. My pack survived (accidental) immersion in a river astonishingly well—the gear in the sleeping bag compartment was slightly damp, while the stuff in the main compartment came out bone dry. Great overall.
