perfect for me

Patagonia Maximum Legal Carry-On

Patagonia Maximum Legal Carry-On

Rating for this product: 5 August 9, 2006

The material is tough, the zippers are strong, and the size is perfect for a week or so. I bought this just before a trip to Colorado, and I love it. It is easy to pack and holds everything in place. The water tight zippers are a nice plus.

Patagonia Puckerware Shirt - Long-Sleeved - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 9, 2006

I got compliments on this shirt the first and every time I have worn it. I brought it with me on a trip, pulled it out of my carry-on, and it was ready to go and looking sharp. It even made ME look good.

Best yet

Mountain Hardwear Torch Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Torch Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 1, 2006

I have used a few other softshell jackets, and this is the best yet, by far. It is thinner than the Mountain Hardwear Alchemy and smarter than the North Face Apex. Taped zippers and pit-zips are not only ingenious, but now indispensable. Why would you not have taped pit-zips? The integrated hood is also great and necessary. This is a great jacket and the price should not make you shy as many inferior jackets cost the same. Great product!

Do it!

Mountain Hardwear Alchemy Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Alchemy Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 16, 2005

I have tested my Alchemy in several environments and found it to adapt to whatever I attempted. Mine has been to dozens of peaks, including Mt. Rainier twice. I seem to run a little hot, so I had to learn what layer to wear underneath. This jacket is indestructible. I have scraped it, snagged it, glacier-slid it; it is awesome! I have never wet through and would recommend it to anyone going high and traveling far in the cold. Go do it!

Near weightless shelter

Integral Designs Sil Shelter

Integral Designs Sil Shelter

Rating for this product: 5 September 29, 2005

The size and weight alone is worth it. I have slept in other shelters (MSR Twin Peaks and standard tarp), and this by far the lightest. I much prefer it solo as it is small. Suspending from above rather than trekking poles on the inside is great, though not much head room. It packs down to the size of your fist and weighs less than a pound. Take lots of stakes for pitching options. I found it on sale, great buy!
