Good Jacket

The North Face Windwall 2 Fleece Jacket - Men's

The North Face Windwall 2 Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 August 24, 2009

The Windwall II jacket has a very trim fit. I could wear a thin layers underneath it, but anything bulky would not fit well underneath this jacket. I wear a large and most jackets in that size have arms are a bit long for me. The Windwall II's sleeves fit me perfectly.

The jacket is warm enough to wear in cool weather and blocks wind well, but it not warm enough to wear on its own in cold weather. I have a Patagonia Retro X fleece jacket that does not look great but is much warmer.

Patagonia Classic Retro-X Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 August 24, 2009

The Retro-X Jacket is an incredibly warm fleece jacket. It blocks the wind very well. It is great for late fall and early winter use. It is actually too warm for me to wear in cool weather especially if I am doing something active. It is cut generously and provides excellent range of motion. My only complaint is that the fuzzy material gets matted down from the seat belt or on my back when I sit in the car.

Good Jacket

Patagonia Rain Shadow Jacket - Men's

Patagonia Rain Shadow Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 August 19, 2008

I have used the Rainshadow jacket in the rain several times this summer, including a Canadian fishing trip where it rained off and on for two days. This trip included rain blowing in at forty five degree angles and a fifteen minute deluge where it rained so hard that the visibility wasn't more than a few feet. The jacket kept me dry.

I like the design of the hood and the pit zips provide good ventilation. The zipper is kind of hard to use but it does keep the rain out.
