North Face does the same thing with their Base Camp duffels: waterproof fabric, but NOT waterproof seals (factory sealed) and zippers (the new type with rubber covers). These two improvements would make this type of duffel MUCH more water resistant (even if it doesn't make them completely waterproof). Seems like such a simple thing to change.

Medium works fine as a carry on, even end in. Fits in the overhead rack nicely, especially if it's slightly compressible.

The FABRIC is tough and waterproof, but I wish TNF had factory sealed (factory taped) the seams. This would have made it really rain -- and puddle -- proof. Too bad, as this would be an easy thing for them to do to really waterproof these bags.
