Tubbs Xplore Series Snowshoe Kit - Women's
January 5, 2012
The bindings don't attach to your boot (it's the same with all snowshoes). You want to pull the straps tight, although not so tight to where they impede circulation. You may have to tighten them occasionally but this design should not loosen too much.
Hope that helps.

It will depend on the water bladder you purchase to go with the pack. This particular pack does not include a water bladder, but you could buy a bladder with an insulated straw.

The North Face Snow Leopard Sleeping Bag - 0 Degree Synthetic
December 10, 2011
It depends what you need. The Cat's Meow is only rated to 20 degrees but it is significantly lighter. You should usually buy a sleeping bag that is rated to colder than you will need. If you plan to use the bag on 20 degree nights I would get the Leopard. But if the coldest you think you'll be camping in is 30-40 than I would get the Cat's Meow. It also depends on how cold you usually are, are you a warm or cold sleeper? Hope that helps.

December 10, 2011
Nope, this pad is self inflating. That means it relies on atmospheric pressure. All you have to do is open the valve and give it a few minutes (probably about 10). You can inflate it by mouth if it's taking too long.

KEEN Brixen Boot - Women's
November 24, 2011
It's hard to say. It depends a lot on what you'll be doing. For example, you need a lot more insulation for sitting still than you'll need for hiking. Either way, unless your feet are usually very warm in your boots I would not suggest these for weather that cold. -40F is really cold. :)

Vasque Clarion GTX Backpacking Boot - Men's
November 20, 2011
It's possible. However, since these boots don't have a 3/4 or full shank their flexibility will cause the crampons to fall off periodically. I would sugest a sumer mountaineering boot for hiking with crampons.

The North Face Couloir Full-Zip Hooded Sweatshirt - Men's
November 20, 2011
The wind rating refers to "cfms" which means cubic feet of wind that can pass through a fabric in a minute. 93 isn't a great rating but it is better than a fleece with no wind resistance (typically about 200 cfms). To not feel a breeze you need a rating of about 40-60cfm. Check out this website for more information... http://backcountrybeacon.com/2010/02/breathability-ratings-w

Outdoor Research Virtuoso Down Jacket - Men's
November 20, 2011
In insulation value this should be similar to the Sub-Zero. This jacket has at water-repellant finish so, personally I would be comfortable wearing it as an external layer as long as the danger of getting really wet is minimal. It won't previde the same protection as a shell (hard or soft) but should repel snow and light precipitation.

SOG Knives Trident Knife
November 20, 2011
It kind of depends on the knife and type of blade. Knifes with stainless steel blades are generally a little easier to sharpen. I would recommend getting a diamond stone (a sharpening stone made with bits of diamond) to start. Hold the knife at the angle so the sharp part of the blade is flat against the stone. Move it in a circular motion as if you're trying to slice very thin slices off the stone. Make sure to do each side evenly.
