Great Biners!

Black Diamond Neutrino Rackpack - 6 Pack

Black Diamond Neutrino Rackpack - 6 Pack

Rating for this product: 5 May 19, 2012

I use these as extendables and they work great. They are light enough for me, and considering they come out for around $5-6 a piece MSRP i don't see how i could have passed them down.

Great Draws!

Black Diamond FreeWire Quickdraw

Black Diamond FreeWire Quickdraw

Rating for this product: 5 May 19, 2012

I bought these as my first quick draws, and they work great. I don't think weight matters enough considering you can get these for $9 when they go on sale. I think they clip loud and great. I have never had a problem with the key lock on the wire gate getting stuck on anything. So to me, these are the best bang for you buck on the market.

Metolius Mega Pack Hold Sets

March 14, 2012

Planning on building a small bouldering wall in my basement this summer. Trying to decide how big i want the wall and which pack of holds i should buy. What is a good number for holds per square foot? I was thinking about 1 hold per sq ft. So thats would be a 30 pack per sheet of ply wood. Is this accurate? What do you guys think?

Rating for this product: 5 February 1, 2012

I love my leatherman. I got the Blast as a give a few years back and it has served me great ever since. It broke once, but the tool that broke wasn't being used properly. I sent it back to Leatherman and received a new tool promptly.

Great runners!

Black Diamond Nylon Sewn Runners

Black Diamond Nylon Sewn Runners

Rating for this product: 4 February 1, 2012

These are great. They are cheap, and durable. Only 4 stars because they could be lighter. But for half the price of a runner thats not half the weight docent make sense for a beginner climber.

Amazing Biner for belaying

Petzl Attache Locking Carabiner

Petzl Attache Locking Carabiner

Rating for this product: 5 February 1, 2012

I love having a large biner to belay with. It makes everything so much easier. Like if you get into a situation where a munter hitch is needed, a large biner is priceless. But, for the price I only bought one, and use it only when belaying.

Great biner for the price!

Black Diamond Light D Carabiner

Black Diamond Light D Carabiner

Rating for this product: 4 February 1, 2012

For the Price this is a great biner to use for keeping your shoes together, putting your chalk bag on your haul loop, or even just keeping a couple with you incase you have to lower of a (cheap) pice of gear on a lead climb. They are a bit heavy but they last forever.

Sterling Evolution Velocity Rope - 9.8mm

December 25, 2011

In the description table on the left it says that this rope has a center mark. Just got one, and there's a problem. No center mark. Did this rope individually not get marked, or is the description wrong? What can i do to either get another rope, or to have Backcountry fix the description?

Great Harness!

Black Diamond Momentum Speed Adjust Harness - Men's

Black Diamond Momentum Speed Adjust Harness - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 18, 2011

Black Diamond did great with this one. As an upgrade of the Momentum AL, The SA (speed adjust) Is fantastic.
I have never had any trouble trusting a speed adjust system, and i won't after owning this harness. It is easy to use with one hand and the rest is the same as the AL. All the and effort time saved is definitely worth the extra $5 for the upgrade from the AL.

Black Diamond Positron Screwgate Carabiner

Rating for this product: 4 December 18, 2011

This biner is great, Its light, and safe. Personally i think its a bit small, i much prefer working with a larger carabiner like the Black Diamond Rocklock. But besides that id does everything its supposed to.

Great shoe!

La Sportiva Tarantula FriXion RS Climbing Shoe

La Sportiva Tarantula FriXion RS Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 5 December 14, 2011

This shoe was great, I've just gotten into rock climbing but am excelling quickly. This shoe can handle a lot. It stretched ALOT, Like 1 1/2 sizes. But if you buy big then there shouldn't be a problem. My shoe did have a problem with it early on, but it was a manufacturing mistake with that shoe individually. am in the process of sending it back now. Don't know how ill have to wait for it to get back to climb.

Good pad

Therm-a-Rest Z Lite Sleeping Pad

Therm-a-Rest Z Lite Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 4 December 14, 2011

First off all i have to say is that for $40 this is an okay deal. Its super light, and works great for really cold weather camping. You can put it under a main pad to give you more of boost up from the ground. But its not that comfortable, only has a R-Factor of 2.2 and is big compared to some of the pads that are now out. In the end for the price I think its a good product.

Katadyn Hiker Pro Water Microfilter

Katadyn Hiker Pro Water Microfilter

Rating for this product: 5 December 14, 2011

I love this Micro Filter, I'm not a fan of ceramic filters because if you need to pump from a dirtier source they clog quickly. that being said, the carbon filter with the screen is all i need. Good size and weight for a purifier of this size. Also pumps water at a very good rate.

5 Stars!

Kahtoola Microspikes Traction System

Rating for this product: 5 December 14, 2011

Microspikes are great, so much better than Yak Trax. And for when a crampon is not needed they are a life saver. I do think that $60 is a little much for some metal and rubber.
