  • Stomping Grounds:

    Sierra Vista, AZ.
  • Bio:

Sam lives in the southern Arizona desert with his beautiful wife, Heidi, and son, Reyn. Amid studies at the local college in preparation for nursing classes and work as a city transit bus driver Sam gets to enjoy the best mountain bike trails the area can offer. Accompanied by his dog, Rossignol, they tear up the dirt trails in the cool of the early mornings. When winter arrives Sam heads up to Mt. Lemmon (near Tucson) and polishes his telemark turns on his old Rossignol Big-Bangs. When he can he likes to make a day trip with climbing buddies, Phil, Gordon, and Jericho, over to the Cochise Stronghold. The climbing area is right in the Dragoon range and offers superb sport climbing routes.

Capitals are so so.

Smith Capital Sunglasses - Polarized Lens

Smith Capital Sunglasses - Polarized Lens

Rating for this product: 4 July 21, 2008

Smith is a highly regarded company that pumps out tons of great products. Their sunglasses are supposed to be the best and most of the time you can trust in that. For sports, the capitals are not very ideal. They are more like a highway driving pair of sunglasses. The grey polarized lenses are great at reducing glare! The photo copper mirror lenses are too light and don't keep out enough light. The capital frame can be tiring on your nose where the pads rest.

Deuter Aircomfort Kid Carrier

Deuter Aircomfort Kid Carrier

Rating for this product: 5 February 5, 2008

We bought this for our 23 lbs. one year old son to facilitate our hiking. It really has been a great pack! We are amazed at the comfort for the parent and the design for our child's seat must be comfortable too (we assume so since our kid can't talk...yet). This product has been a great tool for our child to get to know the outdoors.
