great dexterity

Black Diamond Punisher Glove

Black Diamond Punisher Glove

Rating for this product: 4 December 7, 2011

the title states it. the dexterity is flawless for an insulated glove. it's also very breathable and waterproof. If your hands get cold easily however (like mine do), I wouldn't recommend going out in them if the temp is below 5 F unless you have another layer on under them.

KEEN Summit County Winter Boot - Men's

November 2, 2011

James,
I hike all winter in the Wasatch range in Utah using the Keen Summit country. As long as you aren't doing anything extremely steep and icy then i would recommend this boot. it stays very warm and dry considering the low cost of the boot. If you are doing any serious mountaineering however, i would recommend an actual mountaineering or ice climbing boot with an aggressive toe such as the La Sportiva Trango Extreme Evo Light GTX Boot or the La Sportiva Trango S EVO GTX Mountaineering Boot or the (most popular)La Sportiva Nepal EVO GTX Mountaineering Boot (which is worth every penny).
Feel free to contact me via email at Tritchie@backcountry.com if you have any other questions.

Thanks bro,
Tim Ritchie

absolute perfection

Big Agnes Seedhouse SL2 Super Light Tent: 2-Person 3-Season

Big Agnes Seedhouse SL2 Super Light Tent: 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 October 31, 2011

To start out, this tent weighs nothing and takes up no space in your pack. Secondly, it says a two man tent (which usually means one person and a pack) But i just took this out for a three night canyoneering trip in southern utah and me (5'7"), my girlfriend (5'5"), my 70 lb. dog, and all of our gear fit (underneath my dog) into the tent. it was close quarters but very comfortable. the temp outside got down to about twenty degrees F all three nights and we both sleep in 15 degree bags partially zipped and stayed warm. my dog has short hair and sleeps in a kids forty degree bag and she seemed to stay plenty warm as well. It was easy to set up and take down. it seemed pretty durable considering the weight as well. I would definitely recommend this tent to anyone.
