Bern Baker Helmet w/Knit Liner

Bern Baker Helmet w/Knit Liner

Rating for this product: 4 December 9, 2008

I got my Bern Baker with Brock Foam last season and I'm quite impressed. This is the first helmet I have owned that I don't mind wearing on the hill. It's lower profile than my old RED helmet, it's lighter, fits my noggin pretty snuggly and it looks pretty sweet in matte black.

I finally got to test out the Brock foam last weekend up at Mammoth. I got lazy, caught a back edge and scorpioned the back of my head pretty hard into the snow at the top of chair 12 and it worked like a charm... had a little whiplash of the neck muscles, but no concussion. A+ in my book.

I couldn't quite give it a 5-star rating because of a couple of things. I didn't really like the knit liner. It's a little long in the back and hits the back of my neck a little weird when I look up. Also, the brim of the helmet seems to catch the wind and tilts back when I'm straight-lining the blue runs.

All and all, the Bern Baker is a wonderfully constructed helmet. I would buy this helmet again in a heart beat. Highly recommended.
