Stoic Luft Hoody Insulated Sweater - Men's

August 3, 2010

I have other Stoic gear, and IMHO there's no way a Medium will fit someone who is 6'2". I'm 5'10" and medium is just slightly long on me. Go L.

Nice, but not industrial strength

Stoic Merino Crew - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Stoic Merino Crew - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 July 5, 2010

Breathes like a champ, fits awesome (5'10", 165 lbs athletic build and it was just snug enough), great color, no stink, everything I would want in a shirt except that on the third outing with a backpack it started getting a bunch of little holes in the back. There's no way to avoid friction when carrying a pack, and a shirt described as suitable for 'a ridgeline backpacking foray' should hold up for many more wears. But, I do love my Stoic Welder Lo and Bliss l/s shirt, and Backcountry's return policy is second to none, so while I don't like the shirt I'm still a happy customer.

Great jacket for active cool/cold weather pursuits

Stoic Welder Lo Softshell - Men's

Stoic Welder Lo Softshell - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 April 14, 2010

Pretty awesome jacket - light, stretchy, comfy, feel no wind, pretty water-resistant (not waterproof), great athletic cut.

Two issues so far after a few months of wearing:

1. Zippers zip up to close, so after some vigorous activity some of them kind of open a little bit. Why can't zippers close down?!

2. After 1 wash, some of the welds have created sharp edges/points inside that irritate my forearms. I think I can live with it, but it's a little annoying. We'll see what happens after a few more washes...
