Very good shorts

Columbia Capture Rapids Water Short - Little Girls'

Columbia Capture Rapids Water Short - Little Girls'

Rating for this product: 4 June 10, 2008

The rise seems a little long on my 4 and 7 year old girls, but the construction is solid, the fabric performs as they say. So far we've only worn them for sports and after the pool, but I think they'll go the distance for our summer beach/camping/hiking/river playing plans.

Great fleece

Columbia Benton Springs Fleece Jacket - Little Girls'

Columbia Benton Springs Fleece Jacket - Little Girls'

Rating for this product: 5 June 10, 2008

Jacket shaped well for kids, not too wide and not too tight. Arm length good on my tall 6 year old girl. Fleece cleans up well in wash, no pilling after a winter of wear.

smartwool is great stuff

SmartWool Lightweight Zip-T Shirt - Women's

SmartWool Lightweight Zip-T Shirt - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 22, 2006

Shirt fits tightly, but is totally itch-free. Great heat retention and wicking ability. I have long arms and the sleeves are plenty long to cover my wrists, also the torso is long enough to stay tucked-in, plus they did not shrink in the wash/dry. After 4 days of skiing, the shirt does not stink!

sturdy bag

DAKINE Low Roller Snowboard Bag - 4400cu in

DAKINE Low Roller Snowboard Bag - 4400cu in

Rating for this product: 4 March 22, 2006

I used the bag for skis, boots and poles. It was still a little long so I cinched it down with an old dog harness (sure made it easy to recognize at baggage claim). The construction is very good and strong. I only wish it had a few additional simple features like compression straps inside to hold gear in place, cinch straps outside to shrink it for a better fit around your gear, maybe a pocket inside for gloves, goggles, etc. The wheels are nice, but I didn't really use them as it was easier to navigate the airport when carrying the bag since it’s so long.

dry and comfortable

Mountain Hardwear Thermadry Tights - Women's

Mountain Hardwear Thermadry Tights - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 20, 2006

I wore these tights under insulated ski pants for a recent four day ski trip. Temps in the 20s and 30s, and I was very dry and comfortable, they have sufficient heat retention and vapor wicking. I usually wear a medium and these tights ran a little large. They were not very tight, but so soft that it felt like I wasn't wearing tights at all.

mom bag

The North Face Calyx Messenger Bag - Women's

The North Face Calyx Messenger Bag - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 June 9, 2005

As a mom of two girls, I can carry three pairs of sunglasses, cell phone, extra diaper, a few wet wipes, big fat wallet, lip gloss, small snacks, mail and checkbook, with no problem (could probably cram my digital camera in there too.) All that and the bag still looks slim and tidy. It’s organized and convenient to carry across your chest so you can still heft a toddler on one side and have your hands free to grab the other before she steps into traffic. I do wish the back pocket had a small pleat of extra material, but otherwise a great bag.

sooo cute!

The North Face Emily Top - Women's

The North Face Emily Top - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 June 9, 2005

Cute, feminine top that stays cool in the hot sun. Very light cotton, but seems pretty sturdy. Deep "v" doesn't gape, even when you bend forward. Only problem is that it needs ironing to look neat.

a challenging fit

Croakies Middi Terra Cord

Croakies Middi Terra Cord

Rating for this product: 3 May 25, 2005

The rubber tube on the cord is really tough to fit over the arm of the Smith Slider sunglasses. I haven't been able to get it all the way on, so I don't think it’s completely secure. If I succeed in getting it all the way on, I’m sure the sunglasses will never slip off my head.

root beer fade glare problem

Smith Toaster Sunglasses - Interchangeable

Smith Toaster Sunglasses - Interchangeable

Rating for this product: 3 May 25, 2005

I love the fit and I love the look of these glasses. They are my second pair of sliders, and fit great for a smaller face. The lenses are great, but the root beer fade frame color is creating a glare problem. The root beer color fades to clear at the bottom of the frame under the eyes. In bright sunlight, the clear frame refracts the sunlight up into the eyes resulting in a bright glare directly into the eyes. Anywhere you need to keep an eye out for changing conditions (busy ski area, driving a boat or a car), this could be a problem.
