At first it looks as a great improvement over Reverso 3 - has a big binner hole for releasing a second in auto-block mode and much lighter.

Probably you don't want to take it outdoors - it's soooo light, aluminium alloy walls are soooo thin, overall it feels soooo fragile so I bought the spare Reverso 3 for my outdoors adventures. I do not trust this ultralight design - feels like it would be broken after the first contact with rock.

Disclaimer. Yes, I understand that "feels and seems" are not about the Reverso 4 but about my perception. Anyway I would never use any climbing hardware I do not trust and this review reflects my subjective opinion.

Anyway it's a cool belay device and a good example of a well-done engineering job (perhaps, too-well-done). If you feel comfortable with Reverso 4 it would serve your belay needs. Just never drop it on a hard surface even from you waist height.

It's a nice and good looking chalk pod. It does the job well and equipped with two brushes loops, comfortable fleece lining and a top pocket for small items. You can also hang something (e.g., watches) on the handle to free your hands when strolling between boulders.

The only issue is the zipper - not smooth and not too durable (mine lasted less than year and half).

Not the best for belaying off the anchor due to a high friction. In all other respects it's a great locker.

The previous model (2008 BD Momentum AL) was a true all-arounder. You can put the 2008 Momentum AL on and off easily w/out need to take off crampons. You can put it on and off w/out need to move your feet. You can gym climb or move outdoors and climb some trad or sport multipitches with it. Alpine climbs, ice climbs, mixed climbs - whatever you want. It was simple and it was great.

The new model has one-piece leg loops so you need to take off your crampons to take it on and off. And you need to step into it to put it on - an awkward and tricky sometimes.

It's still a good comfy harness for gym and outdoors rock climbing. But it lost a versatility of the 2008 year model.

These lightweight binners are the best BD Camalot #0.5-3 companion - have the same colors and weight much less then BD Neutrino. The gate clearance is pretty good.
