Sugoi Merlin Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

July 14, 2009

Nice shirt, I like the little pocket with the MP3 player "hole" and the guide for the earphone piece near the neck line. Question, though...what's the "double fabric" on the back of the neck for? Something I'm missing?

The perfect 100 mile headlamp

Black Diamond Icon Headlamp

Black Diamond Icon Headlamp

Rating for this product: 5 June 13, 2009

Fantastic headlamp! I used this in the San Diego 100 mile endurance run and ran through the night with it. Hey, if it's good enough for the Speedgoat (Karl Meltzer) it's good enough for me....and it was. Performed flawlessly, didn't even feel it on my noggin and it lit up the trail like the sun at night. Beautiful. I switched between the spotlight of the 3 watt LED and the 4 super brights and also played around with the brightness. Ran into all kinds of trail and all kinds of conditions. It lit up the nocturnal toads that were on this run, which was quite amazing. I can't recommend this enough!

Black Diamond Icon Headlamp

I know Karl has used lithiums in this bad boy...anyone else? I'm gearing up for the San Diego 100 and I plan on running lithiums in it...but I don't want it blowing up on me and leaving me "in the dark" at mile 75...any thoughts/issues on using lithium batteries since this unit doesn't have a voltage regulator?

Best Trail shoe ever

Montrail Streak Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Montrail Streak Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 7, 2008

I've been trailrunning for over 6 years and have worn, literally, just about every shoe out there. This is, by far, the best overall trailrunning shoe I've ever worn. It offers nearly all the support of the Hardrock, yet it is light and flexible. Just a fantastic shoe!

Great shoe but...

GoLite Trail Fly Trail Running Shoe - Men's

GoLite Trail Fly Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 May 24, 2007

This is a great shoe, but unfortunately due to my anatomically odd right ankle, it tends to rub on it and thus the shoes are useless to me. This is really too bad as the treads are excellent and the left shoe worked perfectly.

If only Golite made a shoe with a slightly lower cut (perhaps the Sun Dragons, which I will try next.)

Excellent technical top!

Marmot Evolution LS Half Zip - Men's

Marmot Evolution LS Half Zip - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 13, 2004

This technical top works as advertised. It keeps me warm and comfortable on cold, windy runs. I never get over damp under it. This Next 2 Skin is an awesome material and works very well for what it is designed for.
