Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Zip T - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Zip T - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 28, 2008

This is a great piece of clothing! Very warm but breathes and is so ventable(deep zipper) that it can be worn on warmer days without too much discomfort. The picture on this website is not accurate. The shirt comes with the "nut" logo on both the inner and outer collar and there is no "mountain hardwear" logo label.

I had never used this type of sunscreen before. It is very convenient and spreads easily. It goes on kind of oily but dries quickly. I like it.

Patagonia Ultra Lightweight Hiking Crew Liner Socks

I am not a fan of thick socks! Thick socks can cause blisters and catch on your toenails causing "black toe". If you have a quality pair of hiking boots, you don't need all of that sock padding. Just something to allow your feet to move freely within the boot. These socks breathe well, are easily washed, and quick drying. My favorites!

Vasque Velocity Trail Running Shoe

Vasque Velocity Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Vasque Velocity Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 5, 2005

I had read a lot about the Vasque trail running shoe as being a good backpacker’s shoe. Backcountry.com had a great deal on them so I decided to give them a try. I was so pleased with them that I immediately ordered another pair. They are very comfortable and have an aggressive tread that grips the trail. The toe bumper really protects your toes from injury and the shoes give good support and cushioning even with a 35+ pound pack. I normally take a size 12 but I didn't like the tangerine color so I decided to try a 13 in the grey/red color which was also on sale. I find that the extra room is perfect for the backpacking use that I wanted the shoes for. I always check Backcountry.com first when I need something. They have great service and shipping is fast and free!
