Easy set up

Mountain Hardwear SkyledgeTent 2-Person 3-Season

Mountain Hardwear SkyledgeTent 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 4 April 5, 2006

Took this tent out this past weekend for a test drive. It is a cinch to set up took me less than four min on the first try. The tents all mesh design make it a great summer backpacking tent. The rain fly gives you enough vestibule space for you and your partners pack on a rainy day. It got down to about 30F the night I used it, and the fly did trap a lot of moisture. It is not vented very well. You will have to keep one of the doors open on a cold night. It is so light though around 4lb if you take the minimum stakes. It will be a pleasure to carry on the AT this summer.

Great 3-season bag

Kelty Light Year Sleeping Bag: 25 Degree Down

Kelty Light Year Sleeping Bag: 25 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 March 17, 2006

My girlfriend and I both have owned one of these bags for the past year. It has stood up to all temp ranges from hot 80F nights on the AT in July to 25F winter nights high up in the Smokey’s. Unzipped, its cool enough for summer travel and fully zipped warm enough for most fall nights. If you just had the money to buy one bag for the whole year this would be the one to get.

Phantom 0 down bag.

Mountain Hardwear Phantom Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Down

Mountain Hardwear Phantom Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 February 9, 2006

I have used that bag twice since I received it last month. On both nights the temp dropped to around 5-10 degree F. Inside the bag it was warm and toasty. The bag has a good amount of internal space to move around a little but it will also tighten up almost completely over your face to keep out the cold. It stuffs well for a 0 degree bag and it as very light. The only draw back it not wanting to get out of it in the morning when it is freezing out.

More like Insulated Air Leak.

Big Agnes Insulated Air Core REM Sleeping Pad

Big Agnes Insulated Air Core REM Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 1 February 9, 2006

My girlfriend and I both purchased the pad last spring they both worked great the first night but after that, mine started leaking and it was a very rough night of inflating it back up. I sent it back and got another one. They could not find the source of the leak. wo weeks latter the same thing happened to my girlfriend’s pad. That was not the end of it last week mine went flat again and I spent a cold night on snow. We have gone through 3 pads all of which no one could find a hole. I am fed up with having to pay to send the pad back each time. I think I am just going to buy a different brand. I would advise you to do the same they are not reliable for a long trip.
