From Alpine to NTN

Scarpa NTN Binding

Scarpa NTN Binding

Rating for this product: 5 November 7, 2011

I've only been skiing NTN for 2 days but I love it! I went from a complete alpine set up and the difference in control and stability is mind-blowing. Just watching people ski NTN vs tele you can see the difference on how much more control you have with these bindings. Can't wait to get back on the slopes and ski some more!

Garmont Priestess NTN Thermo Ski Boot - Women's

Garmont Priestess NTN Thermo Ski Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 November 7, 2011

Last spring I decided to make a leap of faith, sell my alpine set up and buy a brand new NTN set up. I impatiently waited for ski season to start up again as I got my new bindings mounted and my new boots heat molded. So far, I love it! The boots fit wonderfully, they keep my feet warm and they seem to be quite durable. Now, I don't have a lot of experience in this field, as I just started free-heeling a few weeks ago, but I feel confident in saying that these are good boots. I'll be sure to update as I continue to break in the boots and beat them up.

Volkl Kiku Ski - Women's

Volkl Kiku Ski - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 June 16, 2011

I'm 16, 5'7", 115 lbs, and I absolutely love these skis! I ski the 162cm from 2009 and you simply can't go wrong. They love the powder but I can still out-carve my brother going down the groomers. I generally ski in Colorado but I make trips to Utah and they perform just as well in the bottomless powder of Alta as the perfect moguls of Mary Jane. I've beaten these skis up, ran over my brother in them, and skied over countless rocks but yet the Kikus still manage to hang in there. I'd recommend these skis to any girl who can ski it hard and wants to improve her skiing. They're quick and responsive, not so stiff but yet a ton of fun. They're perfect for a one-ski quiver!
These skis are pretty indestructible too, I have a gash in the side wall, a mostly p-tex base, and not a lot left of my top sheet and they still ski exactly they way they did my first day on them.

Just a warning, these skis are in no way a ski for a beginner. You have to be able to ski hard or these skis will dominant you.

Great Socks

Bridgedale Heel Fit Lightweight Ski Sock - Men's

Bridgedale Heel Fit Lightweight Ski Sock - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 16, 2011

I got these socks for free so I was a little iffy since I'm a girl and these are men's socks but overall they work really nicely! Ive taken them up skiing in every condition from early season rocks, March blizzards, to the summer season skiing at Arapahoe Basin and every time they perform wonderfully! They keep my feet warm and dry but they have been known to get a little twisted after a hard days skiing. They're definitely a comfy pair of socks, though, and I'd recommend them whether you're a guy or a girl.

As a girl, I'm currently wearing a size medium and I wear a size 7 shoe.

Love 'em!

Smith Phenom Goggle

Smith Phenom Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 June 16, 2011

I've been using these goggles for over a year now and I absolutely love them! Even in the wettest conditions they refuse to fog. I've used them skiing Alta, Utah in one of their famous dumps and when every single other piece of my equipment was soaking wet, my goggles still remained clear as can be! They also work surprisingly well in low light conditions although I wouldn't recommend them in flat lighting. I have a small face but I find these fit quite nicely. One complaint, after a years use, I can see the elastic band starting to fray right next to where they attach to the plastic goggle piece. Not an issue right now but maybe after another year or two it could be. Despite that, I love these goggles!
