Yakima LoadWarrior

Yakima LoadWarrior

Rating for this product: 5 October 1, 2002

Load-warrior is sweet because it will fit directly on factory racks, Yakima or Thule racks. The Load-warrior is perfect for a smaller SUV like a Rodeo, Cherokee, Passport, Explorer, Trail-Blazer, etc. But a word of warning to Expedition, Tahoe or Suburban owners, this is probably too small. I mean, it will still hold gear, but it looks wussy. I would recommend the Load-Warrior stretch net along with the Load-Warrior.

Aaaahhh, the comfort of a Z/1

Chaco Z/1 Colorado Sandal - Men's

Chaco Z/1 Colorado Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 27, 2002

So, I am on my honeymoon on Catalina Island. Warm weather, beautiful scenery, my sweetheart, and a Z tan. Does it get better? You can slide these sandals on and off really easy, but they stay on when you need them to. They are like the miracle sandal. Comfy and casual, yet rugged and hardcore enough for hiking. And they look great. And a Z tan. Did I mention the Z tan?

This is the filter for me

MSR Miniworks Water Filter - 2002 model

MSR Miniworks Water Filter - 2002 model

Rating for this product: 5 September 27, 2002

I have had the oppurtunity to use both the MiniWorks and the Pur Hiker and Guide. The Miniworks is for the guy who doesn't mind waiting a little longer for his water (about 1 min per liter) and doesn't mind maintaining his gear. No joke, if you buy the miniworks, be prepared to have to take care of it. But if you do, it will pleasure you being a field maintainable microfilter, which has always kept me away from overuse of the squatting position. Also, it will definately outlast the other filter elements. And for a good price.

Don't want to mess with a filter?

Katadyn Hiker Water Microfilter

Katadyn Hiker Water Microfilter

Rating for this product: 5 September 27, 2002

I think if you are looking for just a microfilter thats going to protect you, but not take too much maintenance, this is the one. Really easy to use, and even easier to maintain. The only downside is that sometimes I pinch my finger under the pump. Also, the Nalgene attatchment it comes with rocks!

So light, so inexpensive

MSR Pocket Rocket Stove

MSR Pocket Rocket Stove

Rating for this product: 5 September 27, 2002

This stove rocks. It is only 3 ounces and it takes me usually about 3 min to boil a liter of water. I usually keep some matches inside the little case it comes in. Also, it is super easy to use and suprisingly stable.

Salomon Pro Sticky Low 2 Shoe - Men's

Salomon Pro Sticky Low 2 Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 27, 2002

I got my first pair of these not really knowing what to expect. After climbing a 11,750 ft peak overnight in the rain, I fell in love. The sole is honestly- reallllllyyy sticky! And they provide really good support for a low. Beware people with bad arches- you will need to have an insert. The shoe is very flat. But I would recommend it to all.
