Performs well

MontBell Mistral Parka - Men's

MontBell Mistral Parka - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 July 31, 2011

Lightweight, stuffs well and performs as advertised. The pockets sit awkwardly high on me though. It's very uncomfortable to place my hands in the pockets.

Edit: Those high pockets do prove to be useful if you have a hip belt on though. [:

MSR Dromedary Bags

MSR Dromedary Bags

Rating for this product: 2 July 26, 2011

I bought this to use on long distance backpacking trips. I purchased the 4 L version. I arrived at the trailhead of Mt Whitney and put about 3 L of water in it and place it inside my pack. Within 200 feet of hiking, my partner notices water dripping on the bottom of my pack. I removed the MSR bag and screwed the lid off and back on. It did the same thing again and I had to remove the bag and strap it to the top of my pack where I finally positioned it to where it stopped leaking. It still occasionally leaks around the screw on cap, while just sitting on the ground! I've read numerous similar reviews. Sort of sucks it doesn't come with the hydration hose and you have to pay $20.00 extra for that. I'm a little disappointed, MSR.

It only gets two stars because it is very durable.

Edit: Let me add, I was using this with the hydration hose. It might have been due to this addition that it leaked. When I find out exactly what the problem is, I will update this.

MSR Deep Dish Plate

I bought the small. It is lightweight and very rugged. It weighs only 2.3 oz. It is large enough to hold 1/2 of a Mountain House 2.5 serving meal, and more.

Sea To Summit eVent Compression Dry Sack

Sea To Summit eVent Compression Dry Sack

Rating for this product: 5 July 26, 2011

Used this while on Whitney and Langley. The medium weighs 4.7 oz. It fit my 3.0 lb Sierra Design Wild Bill bag just fine. I also had room to stuff some clothes in there with the bag. Although, it sometimes could be more beneficial to just stuff your bag into your pack rather than a compression sack.

Marmot Zeus Down Jacket - Men's

Marmot Zeus Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 26, 2011

I used this jacket when climbing Mt Whitney and Mt Langley. Temps got into mid 20s and I never felt the cold under this jacket, at night, with only a base layer underneath. I'm 5'10" and weigh 210 lbs. the large fits me fine and it weighs 16.3 ozs.
