Very nice and comfortable

Isis Henna C/D Bra - Women's

Isis Henna C/D Bra - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 24, 2012

This bra has a very stretchy, smooth, super comfortable fabric that I loved. It has fairly distinct cups that avoid the complete uniboob look, but still provide some shaping and decent support.

I'm a 32C or a 30D. Size small worked for me, but I had to shorten the straps to their shortest length and it worked best on the tightest hook setting. Even then, it actually gapped very slightly in my underarms. On the bright side, it wasn't constricting under my arms! When I first put it on, I was disappointed to find it rather wrinkled and baggy in the cups, but once I shortened the strap that issue went away. Anyway, once I got the fit adjusted right, I found it to be quite comfortable, gave me a good shape, and definitely solid support for medium impact activity. I felt like I could even run in it in a pinch, though I do prefer a bit more support for running.

The straps are definitely much thicker than in the picture. It has a pretty thick gel-filled section on top of your shoulders, which did create a subtle bump under clothing. Very comfy but maybe overkill? The back straps are probably an inch thick and the adjusty hooky bits are metal. It converts to an X-back (with some effort; it wasn't easy to get the hooks out of the loop). The X-back configuration can provide even more support and lifting/shaping. Unfortunately, I had to let the straps out so much that the big lump where the strap passes through that metal adjusty thingy was right under the corner of my shoulder blade, which ended up being pretty uncomfortable. The straps felt extremely secure even when not on the X-back configuration, though, so you wouldn't need the X back unless you couldn't get the straps short enough otherwise.

It's fairly high-necked, more so I think than you might expect from the picture. Looks weird under a scoop neck.

Overall, I really like the feeling of this bra: really non-constricting, light, comfortable support that didn't make me feel crushed or squished. I'm not thrilled about some bulky parts of the straps but other than that I love it.

Mostly good

Patagonia Active Brief - Women's

Patagonia Active Brief - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 February 24, 2012

These are definitely a high-cut, bikini brief style: they come up to cover my hips and because of the high cut, they don't give 100% butt coverage.

The pros: Quick drying, of course. Super lightweight, thin, silky smooth fabric. Hardly feels like you're wearing underwear at all.

The con: Hardly feels like you're wearing underwear... until they ride up. They stayed in place fine while I was walking around, but as soon as I started running, well, hello! On the bright side, because they're so thin and smooth and non-chafing, the bit of a wedgie I had really wasn't that uncomfortable.

I liked them enough that I'll continue to wear these for everyday walking and traveling situations, just not for heavy exercise. I've seen reviews of these elsewhere that said they don't ride up, so other people might get lucky; I guess I just don't have the right booty for these briefs.

We just ordered the Deep/Deep and it came with yellow stitching, too. Rather disappointing!
