The North Face Longhaul 30 Rolling Gear Bag - 6100cu in

Rating for this product: 4 5 hours ago

Travel with this bag all the time. After a year, it has handled everything I've thrown at it. No issues with quality or durability. The storage pockets ar plentiful and functional. Weight is fairly lean, so you can get a lot in it and not break the airline heavy baggage fee threshold. Agree with the other reviewer, compression straps are useless and annoying. Otherwise it's great!

frame problms

Osprey Packs Sojourn 22 Wheeled Convertible Backpack - 2400cu in

Osprey Packs Sojourn 22 Wheeled Convertible Backpack - 2400cu in

Rating for this product: 2 5 hours ago

Frame broke where it attaches to the wheel bracket. It took a year and about twenty plane trips, but still disappointing. Also, does not hold as much as I thought it would for the size due to its convex bottom.

Good price/performance ratio

Marmot Cargo Pant - Men's

Marmot Cargo Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 6 hours ago

They look good. Cut is nice trough the knee and thigh. The waterproofing does wear out after about about a year to year and a half. Well thought out pockets and waist adjustments. I paid $99 and feel like it is a pretty good value, but I wear other pants when the weather gets nasty. Spend more if you want more.

Old faithful

Ortovox F1 Focus Avalanche Beacon

Ortovox F1 Focus Avalanche Beacon

Rating for this product: 5 6 hours ago

Have had the F1 for 5 years. Easy to operate and dependable sum this beacon up the best, and isn't that all you need? Digital displays are cool, but I see no need for anything beyond the F1 at this point.

High expectations...

Volkl Gotama Ski

Volkl Gotama Ski

Rating for this product: 4 October 3, 2009

Kind of a let down on the results.

Mount: center/back

Been skiing the previous Gotama as everyday ski for the last couple seasons. Skied the new version at the end of last year in Chamonix. It has a very different feel, as it should, with the new rocker design. What it gained was better maneuverability in all conditions. What it gave up was the supreme stability that the older version had. Bottom line: Great ski for powder days, not the go-to all conditions ski in the quiver that the previous version was.

Rating for this product: 4 April 6, 2009

if you're tall and lean like me. Most sweatshirts turn into belly shirts after a couple washings. Not this one. Nice hand, good fit. I'll be wearing this baby a lot. Nice Job BC.com.

Great way to stay organized between the gear closet and the vehicle. Can't wait to add the cooler bag for that post-ride/ski cold one.

Changed my opinion on Oakley

Oakley Hijinx Sunglasses

Oakley Hijinx Sunglasses

Rating for this product: 4 April 6, 2009

Not an Oakley fan. Styling and marketing always seemed a little obnoxious to me. I bought these at an airport becuase I was on the road and forgot my shades. Usually wear Smith, but I gotta say I'm digging these Hijinx. Great lenses, highly scratch resistant, Sturdy hinges and look cool too. I do not take care of my shades and these are showing litle to no signs of wear after 6 months.

Oakley Hijinx Sunglasses

April 3, 2009

Nah, not really. I would classify my head as mediumish and I've been wearing them all winter. Don't get them if you wear a small helmet/hat. You'd look funny.

Big Mountain Ripper

Volkl Gotama Alpine Ski

Volkl Gotama Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 5 April 1, 2009

6'2" 185, Ski the 190's with Dukes. They are a lot of ski, but right at home in powder, crud, backcountry. Great float and outstanding maneuverability for a big stick. Obviously not the best choice for bumps and boiler plate hard-pack, but they'll be OK. Also ski Armada ARV 185. These are more stable and provide way more float.

Last season for current construction Gotama. They are going to a rockered set-up next season. I've skied them and they rip too, but I like the 08/09 model better.

Marker Redemption

Marker Duke Ski Binding

Marker Duke Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 5 April 1, 2009

Went away from Marker for years because of poor product/quality issues. The Dukes have permanently changed my opinion. Used 25 plus times this year so far in Utah, Oregon, and Chamonix. A/T setting is perfect for short treks, but I probably would want something lighter for all day stints. Yes they're heavy, especially on Gotama 190s, but they are a solid binder with no flaws other than weight. Best suited for your 75/25 inbounds vs. out of bounds skier.

Life-Link Carbon Pro Ski/Probe Pole

Life-Link Carbon Pro Ski/Probe Pole

Rating for this product: 4 April 1, 2009

Skied these for three years, I have not had many malfunction problems as other reviwer has. I do check to make sure pole setting is locked down on every ski outing. Nice not to worry about carrying probe.

Floppy

Salomon Gun Ski

Salomon Gun Ski

Rating for this product: 3 April 1, 2009

Big/strong skiers will over power this ski. Definitely maneuverable and light, but that comes at a price. if you like a ski that will push back when you crank on it, look elsewhere. This is a ski for the masses, not the top 10%. Gotama would be better option.

Great all arounder

Armada ARV Alpine Ski

Armada ARV Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 4 March 31, 2009

Does nothing exceptionally well, but does everything pretty damn good. Been skiing these for a couple seasons, 6'2" 185 and I almost over-power the 185's. Suprisingly good arcing on corduroy. Good in powder and crud, but I prefer my 190 Gotama. Great everyday ski, but don't buy if your looking for a specialist ski.
