Asolo Power Matic 200 GV Boot - Men's

March 7, 2011

How breathable are these boots? I've got my choices narrowed down to these, the Zamberlan 996 Vioz, and the Asolo Fugitive GTX. I know that the Fugitives are most likely the most breathable, but I really like the classic look of the 200 GV's.

Primary use would be spring-fall on/off trail hikes in the mountains of Colorado, in all conditions including snow.

Inspect your baseplates for cracks

Look PX 12 Jib Wide Ski Binding

Look PX 12 Jib Wide Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 2 March 18, 2010

Beware of these bindings if you jib hard. I have these same bindings, but in the 2007 model (black binding with green shock absorbing riser). I cracked the metal base mounting plate in half on the heel piece just rear of the forward mounting screws. Upon further inspection, the heel piece for the other ski was cracked in the same place but had not broken completely yet.

I have a friend with the same bindings who had the same thing happen.

Just a heads up to inspect your gear to prevent a possible season ending injury.

Marmot Twilight 2-Person Tent w/ Footprint and Gear Loft

March 5, 2010

How does this tent hold up to high winds and maybe the occasional snow storm?

I'm really looking for a 3+ season tent and this seems to be a good compromise between the 3 and 4 season tents. My main use will be spring-fall camping with a trek into the backcountry in the winter every now and then.

Mountain Hardwear Skyledge 2.1 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

November 25, 2009

How does this tent hold up to high winds? Living in the Colorado and occasional Moab trips, wind stability is a big concern of mine.

Best glasses yet

Costa Del Mar Rincon Polarized Sunglasses - Costa 580 Glass Lens

Costa Del Mar Rincon Polarized Sunglasses - Costa 580 Glass Lens

Rating for this product: 4 January 26, 2009

I work at a ski resort year round so I was looking for something with exceptional clarity and excellent glare reduction. I purchased the Rincon's with the blue mirror 580 glass lens and they have held up to my expectations. The vision out of these glasses is absolutely amazing. Can't wait to try them out fishing this summer.

The only gripe I have with these glasses is that they are slightly smaller than described. I would not consider them a large fit pair of sunglasses.

Very nice jacket

Marmot Mountain Down Jacket - Men's

Marmot Mountain Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 29, 2008

Bought this jacket mainly to wear around town and for some skiing. Skiing the groomers would be great for this jacket but I would not venture into the trees wearing it. The material is just not heavy enough. I generally wear this jacket with no more than a t-shirt underneath and it has kept me warm even in single digit temps.

The only minor gripe I have with the jacket is that the down is kinda thin on the undersides of the arms. Hopefully with more use it will spread out some.

Marmot Mountain Down Jacket - Men's

November 15, 2008

I'm 5'10" and approximately 170 lbs. Would you recommend a medium or large size in this jacket. I seem to fall in between on most other jackets.
