Gerber Paraframe Serrated Edge Knife is a great knife. The half-serrated blade is a must when you need a little help cutting tuff strong material. I use it all the time when I’m in the outdoors.

The Blue Water Canyon Pro Rope - 8mm is a great canyoneering rope. The lite weight is great when approaches & canyons are multiple miles all day affairs. 8mm is fast on rappel so experts and thin people only. You also want to change the rub point on sharp edges constantly. 9mm is better for novices/intermediates, people who have more gravity mass, or if none of the above made any sense.

The Blue Water Canyon Rope - 9.2mm is a great static & canyoneering rope. It has a great hand feel while on rappel and it you treat it right it will be durable for years. The 9.2mm novice/intermediate friendly because it's more durable and better control while on rappel. The best thing about it is the orange color which shows up well in your pictures.

I’m impressed with the Stoic Templum 2 Tent. The moment I set it up the first time I fell in love with this tent. Right price, right quality, everything about it is good. I use it and highly recommend this tent.

The Wild Country Ropeman Ascender is a great just “in case” ascender. It is much better to ascend than friction hitches, works better than a tibloc, and doesn’t weigh as much as a handle ascender. I’ve used it all the time on 8mm rope with a large girth HMS biner and never had a problem gripping. It even will grip webbing.

The Petzl Ascension Handled Ascender glides smoothly up the rope while ascending unlike any other ascender I’ve used.

The Petzl Spatha Knife is a good climbing knife. It fits easily on a binner so you can keep it on your harness for quick access. I highly recommend to purchase serrated blade because it’s easier to use to cut webbing, cord, rope, etc.

The Stoic’s Somnus 30-Degree Down Sleeping Bag is an awesome sleeping bag. For an early spring camping trip I was expecting to be cold with an open bivy but I was hot the entire night. I highly recommend this bag.

The Five Ten Men's Canyoneer is a premier wet water canyoning shoe that friends also use for river hiking, kayaking/padalling, etc. My only complaint is narrow feet do not fit well. You can help fill out the space wearing thick 5mm wetsuit socks.

The Stoic LTWT Step Sleeping Pad is light, quick to setup & affordable. It’s a great pad I’m glad I use it.

The Black Diamond ATC Guide works well for single pitch & top ropes. But where it shines is multi pitch belaying followers & the ability to belay two separate lines.

The Black Diamond Big Air XP Package is a great starter kit. I Love the ATC-XP versatility with options to add more friction to rope with different diameters. It even works well with SRT on thin ropes if you add an extra biner. Yet it’s easy to take in rope while on belay.

I still use a Black Diamond Super 8 from time to time. It’s a good tool in your tool box to have. You can get enough friction by adding extra biners or rigging, ie vertaco. To undue a twist use your cows tail with a binner in-between both strands. I do think this is a good device for canyoning.

The Petzl Ecrin Roc Helmet is comfortable, adjustable to fit your head size, headlamp attachments, absorbs impacts well, and importantly meets UIAA standards. My friends and I love it from caving, climbing, mountaineering, canyoning.

The Petzl Elios Helmet is comfortable, adjustable to fit your head size, soft chin strap that doesn’t cut your kneck, headlamp attachments, and absorbs impacts well. I’ve been saved a split head a couple times. I primarily use my helmet for canyoning & climbing and I’ve been happy with it.

The Petzl Attache is medium size HMS carabiner. The large design is useful for many usages from double ropes, munters, ascending, etc. It’s one of my two favorite carabiner styles. I carry several extra on my gear loop.

The Black Diamond Momentum Speed Adjust Harness is best of both worlds, comfortable & affordable. The speed adjust is not only convenient but is a safety feature because it will be double backed every time. The Momentum harness works great from desert sport climbing with shorts & a t-shirt to alpine climbing with a parka. I recommend this line of harness to friends getting into climbing, and experienced climbers will be happy with this harness.

I love the Petzl Corax Harness. Petzl makes comfortable harnesses and the Corax is perhaps the best. The adjustable leg & waist loops is nice when you need to adjust for minimal cloths needed for desert sport climbing to parkas & suits needed winter alpine climbing. Despite owning several harnesses I find that I always wear this harness each time.

The La Sportiva Exum Pro Approach Shoe is my favorite approach shoe. This first narrow foot types better than any other brands. Great friction on those rock scrambles or alpine rock climbs. Works well when wet and even when canyoneering

The La Sportiva Exum River is not only a great canyoneering shoe it’s a great water shoe from kayaking to river hiking. I used these anytime I need the support of a shoe and need to drain water fast. It even works great as approach shoes on scrambles and easy alpine climbs. It can get beat up a bit in mae west style canyons. I can’t wait for the 2012 La Sportiva Exum River style to come out.

The Petzl Pirana really shines adding friction on the fly and SRT on thin ropes. Simply wrap the rope around one of the break horns when you need to increase friction. Works well DRT if you place a biners between both strands of ropes attached to your cows tell. That way you can keep the ropes separated for an easier pull. Only complaint is the aluminum doesn’t hold up well to sandstone.
