well built shoes with narrow mid section

La Sportiva Sandstone GTX-XCR Hiking Shoe - Men's

La Sportiva Sandstone GTX-XCR Hiking Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 25, 2008

It is a pair of well-built shoes, stiffer than most of the trail-runners or light hiking shoes. I have an average to may be slightly wider feet and this shoe is too tight for me. The heel area width is fine. the toe area width is average with low volume, but the mid-section is narrow. I tried to break it in inside the house for two days but did not work. So if you have narrower feet and need a pair of stiff shoes with good support, this is a good candidate

nice pack but not really hydration compatible

Arc'teryx Needle 35 Backpack - 2014-2258 cu in

Arc'teryx Needle 35 Backpack - 2014-2258 cu in

Rating for this product: 4 February 25, 2008

A very well-built snow pack, typical Arcteryx quality. However, it is not really hydration compatible as claimed, at least not like the typical hydration compitable pack we are familiar with. There is no separate compartment for the water reservior inside the pack, and even one puts a reservior in there, there is no way to route the tubing out with the roll top closure. there is one single Kangaroo pocket outsie which one can put the water reservior in and leave the zipper open to route the tubing but that will use up the only pocket availabe.
