Excellent Bad Weather Shell

Patagonia Primo Jacket - Mens

Patagonia Primo Jacket - Mens

Rating for this product: 5 March 1, 2005

The Primo is exactly that -- first rate. The hard shell Gore Tex XCR is as strong against the elements as any jacket. The hood fits over a helmet, which is important when skiing glades on a powder day. The pit zips allow for easy venting, and the cuffs have well placed hook-and-loop closure to seal out moisture and allow for easy tucking-in under gloves. The pockets are simple and well designed, including the inside zipped pocket. It's easy to layer up underneath and stay warm. Finally, the bit of fleece around the inside of the collar gives a bit of comfort on a cold day.

Another great Marmot product

Marmot Flash Pant - Men's

Marmot Flash Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 1, 2005

I have two pairs of the Flash Pants, so I really like them. The pants are wind and waterproof, and, as shells, are not too hot or cold, depending on how you layer. The waist and suspenders are easily adjustable. The internal gaiters work well, and do not complicate the buckling of your boots. The full side zippers are a nice feature, especially with the hook-and-loop flaps protecting them.
