The bag seems pretty well built. Couldn't get my shoes in the provided slot, but my helmet was fine... after some coercing... the elastic bands are tight. Also like the thought put into the bag with the mesh to provide ventilation to the different sections.

The bag is big, I've tossed all sorts of stuff in the bag and have yet to fill it up. That may change in the winter with all the layers.

I like the bag(s), I bought three . Get the lower priced cube... both are the same... or they screwed up my order. ;-)

I also agree that it would be nice if the bag could stand on its own... but would probably add bulk. Maybe an internal frame type concept would work...

Go get one!

Nice bag

Patagonia Overhead Shed Rolling Gear Bag

Patagonia Overhead Shed Rolling Gear Bag

Rating for this product: 4 February 29, 2008

Great construction. Waterproof zipper is a little finicky but a little wax helped... I agree with last post about getting things in and out of center zipper, until I figured out that you can unsnap the bottom of the zipper which allows a more gracious opening. Fits in the standard-size overhead compartment without problems, no squared off edges and the hard bottom help with loading. Hard bottom protects content that can break, but need to pad bottom. The pull handle locks when the button is pushed while extended... No suiter, and doesn't expand like a Travelpro, which makes this more suitable for casual trips or shorter business trips. Patagonia doesn't include directions with their bags so still learning about features and versatility of bag.
