Hard Hat Review

Bern Watts Hard Hat w/Knit Liner

Bern Watts Hard Hat w/Knit Liner

Rating for this product: 4 February 7, 2011

After my friend got a concussion sans-helmet, I decided it was time to man up and get some skull protection. I really like the profile and matte finish, but I've already had to sew the fleece chin-strap guides back on. The biggest surprise has to be the warmth of the liner. I often have to take out the foam insert to open of the ventilation.

Aptly named socks

SmartWool PhD Ski Light Sock

SmartWool PhD Ski Light Sock

Rating for this product: 5 February 7, 2011

I love sheep, I love smartwool and I f-ing love these socks. Wore the same pair three days in a row on a trip to Colorado and they didn't agitate, smell (too badly) or slide down my legs. My friends make fun of me for talking about them so much; they're just socks. I don't care. These socks are just that good.

Fuse Goggle Review

Smith Fuse Goggle

Smith Fuse Goggle

Rating for this product: 4 February 7, 2011

I'm a big fan of these googles. I was initially concerned with whether the retro-styling would be too gaudy, but they don't stand out too much and the materials are quality. They came with persimmons and amber lenses that are incredibly easy to swap in and out. I've used them in a pretty wide range of temps and weather. They also work well both with and without a helmet. All smiles so far.
