Turns a crap day into a fun day

Lib Technologies Banana Magic BTX Snowboard

Lib Technologies Banana Magic BTX Snowboard

Rating for this product: 4 January 27, 2012

after riding this in multiple conditions this season, from crap ice, to epic pow days, i conlude that this board is at its best on the crap snow days, it just makes bombing icy runs, and sticking that icy landing, and busting through crud so much easier. It is lighting edge to edge and makes awesoem shor fast carves, if you are flatlining you have to pay attention becasue it naturally wants to get on edge. the Magnetraction and low radius sidecuts make for railed turns despite the high rocker. In pow its not the best, you just ahve to lean back and get the nose to plane and it does fine, ill pull out my pow board when theres any fresh snow and switch back to this when it gets tracked out.

Burton AK 3L Hover Gore-Tex Pro-Shell Pant - Men's

Burton AK 3L Hover Gore-Tex Pro-Shell Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 27, 2011

wortht he price IMO. have a size 31 waist got the mediums and the fit perfect with a layer or two under. i think if i got the smalls the would be only good for a base layer.
super solid sonstruction, fabric feels very abrasion resistant. zippers are very solid.
they feel like mountaneering pants but with a snowboard cut. That being said they arent to damn baggy, just right. issues: the ankle zipper flaps catch on eachother when walking, they could have gone without these things at all. The gaiter material is really flimsy compared to the rest of the pants. i do not regret my purchase. there arent many snowboard specific pants with pro shell goretex

Ride Kink Snowboard - Wide

December 25, 2011

The Ride DHK is the closest to the kink.

But the Never Summer Evo Mini is what you want if you are gonna be doing mostly park, its the little brother to an awesome board.

you should probably get size 135-140cm

dont worry about being small bro, all the pros are little guys.

What Why?

Union SL Binding

Union SL Binding

Rating for this product: 2 December 12, 2011

These things are super light and very strong. The quality of construction and use of materials is very evident and they are very adjustable. the ankle strap is upper comfy and the ratchet works quite smoothly and is easy to release.
However, the "improved" toe strap still fits weird as a cap-strap and the ratchet sticks and is tough to release; my repair shop straps that i bought in 2001 for 15 bucks work better.
also why no canted footbed options? most of the bindings in this price range at least come with the option.
I bought these put em on my board, strapped in to test and took them right back off. If im going to pay top dollar for something i want gear that works flawlessly.

Rating for this product: 4 December 12, 2011

i would have bought these if they had canted footbeds, not sure why burton left that out on these. they are what they say they are though. Super light, super responsive, high quality materials and construction.

Lib Technologies Banana Magic BTX Snowboard - Wide

December 6, 2011

its like an exaggerated version of the EC2 on the attack banana, between C2 and straight BTX. its a little stiff for jibs, it does everything else very well though. check the board insiders banana vs banana vs banana review

Sweet boots

Ride Insano Focus Boa Snowboard Boot - Men's

Ride Insano Focus Boa Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 November 28, 2011

These are the lightest boots I've ever owned. Very comfortable with no pinch points for me. The liner laces with the dual zone boa is awesome and lets you quickly adjust the tightness on the slope. These boots are super stiff definetly a good alternative to the drivers or malamutes if you want the convenience of boa. The sole is all foam and has little plastic spikes under the balls of your feet for grip. Makes em really really light and gripy enough on snow but slippery on linoleum and polished concrete.
The toe caps area nice thick material with internal stitching that should hold up well though. I use these with union sl's and a banana magic. They go nicely with stiff board and bindings.

Ok so after a few(7) days these have packed out and put a nice and painful pressure point on my inside ankle, i tried loosening them but it doesn't make much difference and defeats the purpose of having stiff botos i think. still really well constructed and super light so they are still four stars just not for me i think

Marmot Fulcrum Jacket - Men's

Marmot Fulcrum Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 4, 2011

This thing has the perfect amount of insulation for 30-40 degree weather. Went Kayaking the first day and it was raining/breezy 42 degF. got a little hot till i unzipped the pits and then is was perfect. Spray just rolled off of it for the several hours we were on the water.
Next day was snowboarding in 32-35 degF rain/slush
was just in a t-shirt underneath and stayed perfect all day, about 7 hrs in the wet slush.
The wire in the hood brim keeps in nicely formed.
The lining and shell are very soft and kept me non sticky. Would not suggest this for weather past 45 deg.
I'll probably buy the non insulted version of this.
