  • Stomping Grounds:

I reside in Colorado Springs, CO, but I live in the Rockies
  • Bio:

Anything outdoors - sign me up. I love to hike, bike (not as much, but do) camp, love to camp and the more remote the better. Snowshoeing and snowboarding make me wish we could have a year of snow, but my friends loathe the fact I think so evilly. I like to test my snowboard limits by not always staying on the trail, or if I to, make sure it's bumpy like an ocean in a storm. Plus there are less people to run into when in the woods. Problem is, trees don't move so quickly out of the way as do skiers. haha I hope to write some adequate reviews on this site to help other avid outdoors junkies.

Love the jacket!

GoLite Phantasm Jacket - Men's

GoLite Phantasm Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 27, 2009

As with all GoLite gear, my satisfaction has been met. It's a very light jacket and is great and durable even aside from it being so light. My other shell doesn't have side hand pockets, so that's a plus for me. I enjoy sliding my hands into pockets on the cold days. This jacket is mostly used for hiking or camping trips, but I'm sure would do great ripping it in the powder as well. Another highly recommended product from GoLite.

Fantastic Day Pack

GoLite VO24 Backpack - 1500 cu in

GoLite VO24 Backpack - 1500 cu in

Rating for this product: 5 January 27, 2009

This is the best day pack I've bought and the last one I'll need to buy, other than longer trips or perhaps winter day trips. The weight and versatility is exactly what I needed. It works very well on day trips to tackle 14ers. It even compacts by folding in half and stuffed in the top part of my weekend pack to be used an any necessary day trips, like lake hikes or 14er ascents from base camp. I don't really like that there is only one pouch, but I'm sure that helps keep the weight down. I've not had a problem putting in my 2 liter bladder into the pouch. The tie downs on the front can easily carry a jacket and additional food or small gear in the pocket as well. I haven't carried ice axes, so I can't comment like UTClimber has done. To me, it does fit a bit small even for a large, but it's a small complaint considering its cubic space and light weight. I just love this pack. To give a comparison, my previous main day pack was the CamelBack HAWG.
